That leads to this off season.. Does Hextall resign Mason?? I would not give him a long term deal that is for sure, sorry but he just too inconsistent . - 3flyerkids
too inconsistent, huh? interesting
his 12th best in the NHL 5v5 save% in the 4 years he has been here suggests otherwise. 25th best in all save percentage. I guess the stats are skewed by that one Vezina winning season he had... |

“I actually talked to Phil two or three days ago before our game. He was feeling good. So far things are going well," Hextall said.
Trade him before other teams realize he's Brett Lindros v2.0 |

I know trades aren't easy and not always an answer but this team needs something. For me they really need to figure out the defense first. If Del Zotto isn't in the future plans maybe look to move him. Edmonton seems to be looking for defensive help t make a playoff run. They will have to do something soon with Streit about ready to come back and carrying 8 defenders is useless. Also if need be, I think Morin is close that he could be a call up option if injures hit. Could also call up Brennan if they lose Gostisbehere as a more offensive type. - J35Bacher
I'd trade MDZ in a heartbeat, I have no interest in re-signing him since by 18-19 I think Myers, Morin and Sanheim will all be in the lineup along with Provorov, Ghost and Gudas. |

Someone like Hartnell? - YuenglingJagr
No.
Isn't he playing on their 4th line right now?
I would prefer someone younger. I would call Colorado and see what it would take for Landeskog. See what they want. Are they looking to shake up the roster or looking for picks and youth. Can I use Schenn and my 1st rounder?
I would look at Edmonton. They want to sure up the defense. Would Del Zotto help them? What about del zotto for Maroon?
I just would be exploring and see what teams want. Right now the Flyers are a bubble team and I think there are moves that could be looked at to help with now and future.

Not sure how much money they need to lose to bring Streit back, but if it's 1.9 million or less, it seems pretty simple to me.
Step 1: Waive or trade Nick Schultz
Step 2: waive Dale Weise
Schultz is #8 on the depth chart and with Morin in the wings in LHV, he's expendable. Plus the guy needs to play somewhere. Weise has just been awful, so let him ride the bus in the A for a while and maybe he wakes the (frank) up. And, if someone actually claims him, wonderful, we don't have to be saddled with this guy for 3 more years. - BiggE

I'd have to disagree that the Flyers did fine .
Though I understood the trade at the time, I was on record as not liking it one bit. And that included signing Breeze in the first place. Just another emotional, knee jerk, cap restraining move. And as it turned out, I was (for one of the very few times) right.
I actually liked Bobo and wanted him to be given some patience to fully develop. It was only my opinion at that time but I liked his stye, reminding me a bit of Pelle. - 77rams
The Bryzgalov signing is not directly linked to the return they got for Bobrovsky. It was the reason the trade had to happen, but given their options (lose him for nothing to the KHL or get something in return), they did just fine. |

Gordon is fine as a 13/14 forward. I'd rather a vet in that spot than a kid. Weise actually can play better than he has so far, I would hope a demotion would light a fire under him. |

Why weren't we exploring trade options during a 10 game win streak? oh wait now I know...they were playing so well |

What do you think Montreal would want for Shea Weber? Braydon Schenn and Sean Couturier? |

Agreed. Once they signed Bryz, it was the best they could make of a bad situation. The mistake was Holmgren letting Snider push him into signing Bryz in the first place. |

The mistake was the carousel he used in the playoffs that led to Snider pushing him. If he'd just let Bob stay as the starter, no issues. |

Let's in too many soft and untimely goals. He can go stretches and play well. It just seems that situations like the last two games, when the Flyers are out playing and out shooting their opponents he cant out play his counter part. M |

This is true...he sucks...BGSM for a reason. Someone should tell him he needs to be better. OMG did you see that one time he let in a goal from center ice? |

I will admit, he's been shaky this year. I don't know if he's mentally con(frank)ed from the Washington series or what, but he was considered an area of no concern and, to be fair, he is now an area of some concern for me. |

My observations:
-Read doesn't seem to have that burst anymore. I know injured so i'll give a few more games but his speed has seemed to have vanished.
-Hate the Couturier - Read - Weise line.
- J35Bacher
I thought Read was good last night, and has been good since he came back. He was one of their better players last night. Unfortunately, he didn't get much help on his line. Couturier was terrible last night. I think that line has promise, but not with Couturier playing like that. |

I'm starting to wonder if they rushed Coots back a bit too soon. I thought Read was fine too, but Coots and Weise were both pretty bad. |

All kidding aside, with Stolarz, Lyon, Hart and Sandstrom all in the system, I don't want them signing any goalie for more than 3 years. |
