Yeah, LA had 32 home games in the playoffs over 3 years at $2-5 mil per game they made $64-160 mil plus 2 cups without paying any salary. - A_SteamingLombardi
So very true but it hurts them now.
Its the now & the future that matters most. |

Those contracts were/are all essentially immovable because the term and or $ sucks relative to the player. Any NMC/NTC’s just amplify the problem. - Tumbleweed
Sure, it complicates. These contract types are pretty standard though so I don't see how they can be labeled Benning specials.
The only truly immovable contracts here are the Sedins. They have a lock tight NMC to the end and are a package.
Both Sutter and Eriksson have to submit 15 team lists in a couple of years and the Canucks can cover salary.
The Canucks have left a door open for a tear down post Sedins. At least that's how I see it.

Unless money to burn on permanent LTIR contracts.
Idc if fans want to pay for that as long as its not here.
U savvy? - Nighthawk
Fair enough, the Clarkson signing will haunt the leafs for a while through Horton.
Benning is working on a one bad contract out, one bad contract in basis.

Erkisson will likely be terrible in 4 years. You’ll be the exact same spot as you’re in with burrows.
Sutter is junk. Nobody wants overpaid junk.

Next up, gudbranson.
That was easy. - Tumbleweed
How the hell do you even consider Markstrom as part of that list? He is wide open for trade and has a reasonable salary and only signed for 3 more seasons.

A 15 team list is essentially a full NTC especially for Eriksson who will be making 6 million as a 35 year old when he is eligible to submit a list.
I do agree that these contract are pretty standard for teams still attempting to be competitive though. Benning isn't doing anything different than most other teams going for it as far as contracts go. |

Leafs love junk
Aka the Shanaplan in high gear.
No results yet & none forseen for the future.
Not everyone gets a 1OA in their history let alone 2.
Brown is terrible now.
Burrows was underpaid for years & hardly hurts us now.
Sutter is not on the trade market. Moot at this juncture. |

It would be interesting to see how the leafs would look this season if it were so impossible to move or deal with horrible contracts.

If rebuilding through the draft was quick and easy, everyone would do it.
enjoy another fruitless TDL. Hopefully this year, benning won't be a buyer at least. |

Years ahead in the rebuild.... 3 points up.
Therefore, STFU you know-nothing-know-it-all.
And I did not add Marner and Mathews cause you would cry and we cannot have that.

Nope, just reminding the world that you go into multiple rooms, Buffalo, Ek's here and are constantly disrespectful and basically a douche.
So .... rattled? Hardly.
3 points up? LAst three games.... what were they... Colorado, Arizona and.. who? Florida?
You are such a rock star!

We r not a city of lemmings paying for a bill of lousy goods.
If the Canucks suck there r empty seats.
Now explain the phenomenom of Hogtown?
Its unique to the entire world of pro sports.
Its the fans who pay not the owners.
Here we r more sensible. |

That means there is 16 teams to work with. Will they want him? Like you say,,, that's the tough part but the 15 list is anything but a full NTC. Sutter's kicks in when he's 30 which would be the first post Sedin season.
I don't expect to see either of those players late in their contract term. |
