It depends on the entire package but if it were to include an extension for Shattenkirk, plus Tage Thompson and a first round pick then you have something. Adding Thompson to the group of Rantanen, Greer, Jost and Compher would be a good start back towards respectability. Keeping Shattenkirk long term then allows the Avs to move Barrie at the deadline. What would Barrie plus St Louis Number 1 pick net the Avalanche? At this point Colorado will have a top five pick in the draft.

Avs not going anywhere this year, no reason to throw away a talent like Duchene for a Dman that 'might' resign. Seems too silly to be true, but does fit into a 'rumour' sized paragraph!

Sounds like St Louis trying to up the value of their piece to some unsuspecting sucker.............NYC???
