What I took out of it is Thompson wants him to create but also be responsible on d and not do fly bys and rink turns and hustle on the back check and since hes inconsistent here he will be with isles as well. His good d will translate to offensive chances. Ho sang seemed to think it his lack of scoring and wanting to keep the puck when they wanted dump ins and hitting some posts or guys missing his passes. Said he likes the coach and he's there for him but seems like they want him to commit to d and he's not quite hearing that message. Idk that's what I got out of it one saying what he wants from the player and the player getting a different interpretation of what's expected

Can't listen to it at work, but it sounds to me, from what you're saying, that he basically wants to be a Radim Vrbata type. Only interested in offense. Sorry sonny boy, you have to learn to play D as well. Now's the time to instill that in him.
