You may be right, but if a GM views the acquisition of the player with term as a solution as a rental there may still be value. No different than a player with expiring contract, if you are going for Cup and are going to lose player through free-agency anyways.
Maybe won't get as high of value but may get 2-2nds instead of 1st as an example.

The masses may get.upset but I just want to see some real change. At least 1/2 of this roster has to be gone. Only 129.more games until REAL change happens. We get what we get for some of these guys, just like to see them gone.
