good point.
But at that time they earned it.
then theres tkachuk who looks just fine in nhl.
always a roll of the dice. - SMBDragon
He does ...but even in training camp most were assuming he would go back ...much like Bo did here tkachuk made it almost impossible to send him back |

I agree but I think it would have been a tough sell to not bring them in ...it was a really bad series of events ...fans fell in love with the team that went to the finals ...but as they started to lose in round one to veteran teams it became apparent some changed were needed ...then losing to the flames team really put some over the edge ...now they wanted change and youth and wanted it now . - Redmile247
We are also on a situation (apparently) where ownership-mngt-coaching-GM all want different things. Which is also handcuffing the club for sure. Willie and Hank come out and say we are only a few players away from playoffs…Linden comes out and says we are thinking about bringing Miller back for another year…JB comes out and divulges stuff publicly that should not be talked about to the press…who know what the hell the Aqua-feenies are thinking.
Like I said last night just do SOMETHING in the new year. Stale and stagnant is not working here. |

I'm enjoying our airing of grievances this morning. - Marwood
Lots of finger pointing going on in social media, by the print media, bloggers and fans.
Truthfully we don't know, yet, if picking Virtanen and Juolevi was a mistake. Especially Juolevi! Ehlers is most certainly more talented than Jake, but I wouldn't write him off like many in social media are.
The whole McCann for Gudbranson trade is starting to chafe my ass after seeing what we have in this guy. He hasn't been very good. |

Burrows is playing well enough where JB could pitch him to Mtl or Chi.
I've said this a few times before…time for 3rd line minutes for the twins. Get Bo and Sutter in positions where they can succeed in the top 6.
Miller just needs to git gone wherever.
And some hard ass types in the bottom 6 would be nice.
We can roll with Marky until summer then they can go after an affordable goalie to spilt duties with Marky until we see Demko. - LordHumungous
Burrows is being paid 4.5 and has 6 goals . Hansen is cheaper faster younger and most importantly better .
When you pay a guy 4.5 to score 9 goals that is nuts and why you have a bottom team.
Eriksson the Twins are bad deals this year also. |

You could be right. I've never been a fan of him back to his Florida days. You could be looking at near 5 mil per year for a 5/6 dman. - walshyleafsfan
I wouldn't pay that for him. I said maybe 4 per year maximum, somewhere right close to that at least. |

We could have used Gudbrandson against the the Jets .
No need I am sure our leadership core could settle things when Hansen had his knee taken out. I am sure Edler Tanev the Twins or Eriksson would surely come stand up for Jannik |

Your vision is clouded by wanting to win now, neither of those guys currently matter because now is meaningless, it's the future that's important.
Benning signed neither of those guys to their current deals, he's stuck with them unless the owner wants to fork over MORE money for someone not to play in Vancouver anymore. |

It isn't the 1980's anymore, take a number and settle it later. You don't trade a first round pick, and add in a second so you can acquire truculence. That's just retarded. |

My vision is clouded by watching sh1tty old guys that should not be playing hockey any longer.
What is clear is this teams core is old. I don't mind losing if there is a good effort.

And how many numbers have the twins Edler and Tanev settled over the years?
What is even more retarded is paying two players 14 mil for one shot on goal in two games and - 4 and a - 3 production |

I am of the opinion that you get what you get and you don't get upset.
That said I had Ehlers ahead Virtanen by a mile. Didn't like it but accepted it because he was a local kid and had his dream come true.
I figured if Dubois was not available I figured it would be a defencman but I had Sergachev ahead Juolevi. Time will tell with this one.
As for McCann for Gudbransen. I am still happy with this one. We may lose him for nothing anyway then I will be pi$$ed. |

Hey I've said it to you before, I want the old core changed out too but we're gonna have to wait until their contracts are up because Linden won't allow these guys to be traded....he's worried about their feelings being hurt.
It comes down to poor management. In the mean time, continue to draft and develop young players. It's a waiting game. |

Tkachuk was asked the other day locally here about his draft position vs the Juolevi pick and he said we have nothing to worry about with Juolevi…will eventually be a stud up here.
JV will be an average power guy with flashes of great play. Most likely a standard 15-20 goal 40 pt guy…which is fine teams need those.
Gudbranson has been disappointing yes but look at what he has had to work with in our top 4 back there this year. Tanev/Edler are constantly hurt and Guddy can't carry Hutton around. He hasn't actually been put in a position to succeed either. Give that one time I think. |

Your most talented players don't fight or take numbers, on ANY team! Asking them to do so is silliness.
If they want a pugilist then go out and get one, there's a lot of them out there.
Again...until Linden and Benning clue-in, which they never will because they're obviously IMO not very good at their jobs, those guys (Sedins) are here for one more year, just continue to draft and develop youth. |
