Schenn sometimes gets overlooked for his PP contributions since he's the 5th most important player on the top unit, but he's one of the best PP players in the league. We have five guys in the top 50 over the past three plus seasons.

I hope we get to see MDZ and Stolarz play today.

Schenn does a load of damage on the PP. Even his most ardent critics can't deny that.

I would like to see MDZ and Stolie today as well.

Doesn't matter, only 5v5 numbers matter.

In fact, the Flyers actually lost 2-1 last night.

Absolutely. Schenn plays the toughest position to produce on the power play. Giroux, Voracek and Ghost will likely get the most touches. Simmonds takes care of anything around the net.

I'm having issues with Ghost that I've brought up before. He is no Kimmo Timonen. Timonen didn't have as strong a point shot as Ghost or Streit but he was great for finding lanes through the box for tips off Hartnell and Simmonds sticks. Ghost keeps slapping away. I think it's time Ghost starts looking for tape.

Did the Flyers score on that powerplay?

Oh no they didn't because it, like the hit from behind on Konecny, wasn't called.

- Jsaquella

I missed it in real time.....and couldn't believe they missed it when the replay showed the Ref looking right at it........it's a 2-3 game suspension.

After the game, Mason was subtly angling for his eighth start in 13 nights. Said he felt energized with a day off on Friday and wasn't taxed much in yesterday's game, and was ready to roll if Hakstol tabbed him for the Wings game. So I expect him to start.

Stolie has only had one game in 3 1/2 weeks. Meanwhile, Lyon has been very, very busy with the Phantoms. I think, if Mason was going to get all of the 3-in-4/ b2bs anyway, they should have sent Stolie to get in a couple games with the Phantoms and have Lyon back up Mason a couple times then switch again. There was opportunity to do so when both the Flyers and Phantoms were at home.

At this point, there really isn't much Stolie can gain from backing up. There haven't even been many "full" practice days for the team because of all the 3-in-4s.

The Oilers game, Russell cross-checked Giroux into the boards four feet from the ref, who was staring at the play. Nary a twitch from the stripes.

Yeah this is sort of odd. If the back up isn't going to play, why not juggle Lyon and Stolarz to get them both some games in the AHL?

Missed the last part of the game yesterday. Very impressed with the team's resiliency of late. Not their best effort but I was ecstatic to see them still get the 2 pts to keep the streak going.

Tough one tonight, but they've really put themselves back in the mix for the top of the division. Keep it rolling boys.

No ghost there either. Schenn made a lot of good plays to keep the play going too, as usual.

They have a long way to go before they're tops in the division. It will start with beating others they are competing with. The results are nice though. This stretch will help their playoff bid immensely

Yeah. I agree. Lots of improvement required, but some consistent play from here on out and they should make the dance again and in a better seed. If provy can continue his improvement, it's going to be a great year.

Took in that UND/ Western Michigan last night and our boy Wade Allison had himself a game. Got lost a couple of times in his own end, but in the offensive zone he seems to have a nose for the dangerous areas and skates with an informed intent. I'm guessing it's one more year with Murray and then off to start a professional career.

I thought it was a terribly officiated game in the sense that some of the calls made were weak (Gudas, Seguine) and some obvious calls weren't made such as the hits on VDV and Konecny and a trip on G. Forget who G took down but I thought for sure it would be called. just all over the place

Meanwhile 2 years now and Tomek has yet to see a game. I guess the time will come soon where he needs to decide what is more important, his career or his education.
