"We all remember Manning as the minor-leaguer pretending to be an NHLer who jumped on McDavid’s back, because McDavid was too fast for him to deal with, and drove the super rookie’s shoulder into the end boards at high speed."
Come on man, stop.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3z3YfNMBXc0
Which part of that shows McDavid getting away or Manning purposely driving him into the boards? I mean did you think you could just say that and no one would actually look at the play from last year? - shekkie
0:23-0:27 in that video sure looks like Manning is checking on McDavid knowing it was a bad play. If he had intention to injure he's running away from McDavid.

Whether Manning said it or not is irrelevant.
McDavid should know there's no way that the play was intentional and that anything Manning said was pure gamesmanship.
Bringing it up post-game is... well... he IS a teenager, isn't he? |

The coward Manning 1st of all if McDavid was his own man he should step up and take care of it on the ice not shoot it off to the papers. I do not think he would drop the gloves at this level I am sure Manning would have dropped them if he ask and don't send the goon lucic to do the bidding for McDavid I am sure Simmonds would drop for him as well, I saw the play at the time it happen and there was no bad intent to it plays like that happen all the time |

The only coward is McDavid. Who complains that someone won't fight your guys? Who calls someone a franking female dog while Uncle Milan is licking his chops waiting for Manning's move? I suggest Tampax Pearl or Playtax Gentle Glide for the next game. - arichardson22

If you're new here the first thing you should know is that Henderson is constantly letting his emotions (he has a lot of them) get the best of his temperament when he writes blogs. It doesn't always come across so calm and level-headed but some days are better than others I suppose. |

Let me show you an example from Ek's thread of what kind of poster you seem like:
Your first post in this thread, and the post quoted above, exhibit pretty equal levels of intelligence. Please reflect on whether or not this is the type of poster you would like to be. - RonPielep
Your so smart. I'll look into this and get back to you with some thoughtful input on what kind of poster I want to be. |

Sensitive is your mongoloid ass coming in here to troll about something you evidently care about WAY too much. Sensitive is Hendo bringing this up in the first place. It ISN'T calling someone out for being a sad excuse for a troll with too much experience failing to detract from the best players in the world.

Sorry but this isn't Hendo being sensitive. This is Hendo being smart and writing a blog about something that is a current "hot take" in the media, and taking advantage of the fact that it will get a lot of hits. As a fan of the Oilers, why shouldn't he have a slightly emotional response to this? |

We're grooming Connor to be more of a fighter actually.
Hoping he drops mitts at least once or twice a week.
The positives outcomes of making him into a tough guy are endless |

That's how the league works
Plugs fight tough guys and other plugs
U think Connor Mcdavid is gonna drop mitts with Brandon Plug no name manning ?
Cmon - HB77
He probably should if he keeps running to the media to have a cry about it.
I'm sure Manning did poop talk him and maybe even did claim responsibility for injuring him. That doesn't mean he caused him to catch an edge last year. poop talking happens all the time, it only rarely causes one party to run tattle to the media. |

Agreed. Manning made a boneheaded play that turned out to be pretty reckless but what do you expect players with little NHL experience to do when they react in a split second to McDavid's speed? No way Manning decided in that split second that his actions would lead to all of those things occurring that lead to the injury. |

The flyers blog gets pretty repetitive after like 3pm. We're so used to arguing with each other, this is quite refreshing tbh. |

Never said it was a bad idea to write about, simply that he let his emotions around the situation influence his writing a lot more than usual and- as evidenced by the fans in this blog that belong to neither team involved- that makes him look like a homer.
Being a fan and reacting to slights against your team and players happens, but that doesn't make it any less sensitive. He's taking a situation that can easily be looked at more rationally and approaching it with a whole lot of bias. Not completely unfounded bias but bias nonetheless. |
