What's the big deal? Players try to get under each other's skin all the time. Manning got under mcdavids skin in this game. After the game ended and mcdavid calmed down he did his best to put it back on manning. |

No checking line and still a poor D group. Edmonton will have a bunch of wild 5-4, 6-5 games this season. - dragonoffrost
They're much better defensively than given credit for. They had some key injuries too last night |

There is no way Manning would have turned that down. He wouldn't be doing his job if he didnt take Mcdavid off the ice for 5 mins. Its ridiculous to think Manning would've turned it down - Just5
Manning had a concussion suffered in a fight 2 weeks ago. It's not ridiculous that he's avoiding the fisticuffs for a while. |

I think so -- you lost a game in regulation in which you scored five goals. You haven't made the playoffs in a decade. You're the captain of the team. Could be there's other stuff to talk about and think about than yourself and a defenseman on the other team who, while having a pretty solid season, is really a 16-18 minute defender - AllInForFlyers
Regardless of what and how the media asked the question, he's the captain of the team. The right thing to do (dare I say the "classy" thing to do?) was to deflect and put the focus back on the team rather than himself.
He's 19. He'll learn. |

I think Edmonton was missing a few defenseman last night, and even had a rookie making his NHL debut. The also weren't playing their number 1 goaltender and his .946 SV%. Edmonton is a middle of the pack defensive team, giving up 2.72 GA per game. |

I agree, this situation is being totally overblown. Neither player did anything wrong. In the game, or after the game. |

Very entertaining and as I said I like Edmonton's players they are definitely going to be a fun team to watch for the near future.
McDavid going Crosby will have some backlash but I'm not going to kill him for it. Febrauary 16th should be fun. |

But Provy and AMac were the twosome against Connor most of the game. |

Cant say enough about what an active and offensively skilled blue line does for ES point production - YuenglingJagr
+1000
I give credit to Hexy for trying to get the right players to fix this and also credit Haks for his system and getting guys to pinch aggressively at the offensive D line. It doesn't always work out but I love the system especially with the right personnel.
Can't wait to see Sanheim in this system. |

Bellemare had a strong game against him, about as good as you can at ES

Monster did look bad and really we should have had 8 goals. I swore Talbot wanted in after the 3 goals in 1:12. I might have even been inclined as their coach to make that change.
How many odd man rushes did the Flyers get. It just seems to be every other minute there was another 3 on 2. |

Yes for all the poop we gave VdV-PEB-Lyub ... they did very well last night.
I think Hak had a 5 man unit to use against McDavid's line. |

It worked well last night. TBH, it's the first time I saw whatever it is they see in Bellemare. I don't hate him, for the record. Just thought they were using him way too much, but he did play well last night

He was clearly talking about MacDonald who is currently right behind Erik Karlsson in 5 on 5 production. |

He might be a better matchup against Mcdavid anyway. Bellemare is shiftier than Coots. |

So shifty he completely lost his bearings on the 3rd goal and gave up a point blank shot in the slot. |
