devils are the only team that hasn't lost in regulation at home. 8-0-2. that's some (frank)ing bullpoop. they and the wings both won tonight. argh. - hammarby31
18 out of a possible 20 points on home ice. Combination of talent, and that rabid fan base make them tough to deal with.
fancy stat of the day...flyers have 12 of the last possible 12 points...that is a points percentage of 100%
- YuenglingJagr
fancy stat #2 of the day. The Flyers have 12 out of 12 points because in all the games those points were up for grabs they scored more goal than their opponents.
#3? The Flyers are undefeated when leading after three periods.
Since even if we would make the playoffs we are far from a Stanley Cup team...I'd love them to take it one smidge further...
Step 1: trade Streit & MDZ
Step 2: bring up Morin & Sanheim right after the deadline
Step 3: have AMac join Schultz in the press box
Step 4: Put Morin and Sanheim in
Just aint going to happen. There's not going to be a sell off of any kind this year. They will at least be in the playoff mix at the deadline, they wont fall out. Even if they don't intend to bring back MDZ Hexy is not going to sell him. They won't do it to Streit either, it makes no sense. Just ride out the contracts.
As far as bringing back MDZ. It all depends on term IMO. If he wants 2 or 3 years + I'd send him packing and find a shorter term UFA option to stopgap, even if its more $$
Taylor Hall knocked out Philip Larsen last night. 100% totally clean hit
Edit: This, of course, leads to a line brawl where people are jumping over (and bumping into) the unconscious player with their skates and no medical attention can be delivered until the players have separated.

What if he wants 3 years, as I think that counts as 2+.

Total poop show by the Devils and Canucks there. They really need to stop the piling in after a good hit.

I understand and I see the point but honestly what did making the playoffs buy us last year other than screwing our draft spot? The narrative of it brought experience and big game development just didn't happen...look how poor we came out to start the year and do our younger guys look that much better for it?
If MDZ wont give a decent deal...the send him and Streit out for a couple more kicks at the can in the draft or a prospect who needs some more seasoning. I like Rubstov...but I'd much rather of had a top 7-8 pick

So, basically, unless you're a Cup cotender, you should just lose every game to improve your draft spot? I never got this mentality.
To me, you always should try to make the playoffs, because who knows. We made it to the SCF as a 7 seed, LA won it as an 8th seed...if you get hot at the right time and everyone gets clicking, all you need is to get in.
I wouldn't say they necessarily outplayed the Rangers. They outshot them, but for the most part all the shots were on the perimeter. Easy saves for Lundqvist. While the Rangers goals Mason had zero chance on all but one of them. - PLindbergh31
Outchancing them 5v5 27-13 and 8-6 of the high danger type says otherwise.

This was horrible, Larsen is literally dead on the ice and guy's skates are kicking him in the head. Really great for a guy who needs a stretcher to get off the ice.
It might be best for the team to move Raffl to center in order to have another competent line. Move Schenn up to 1LW despite his struggles and put Raffl between Simmonds and Konecny. They can't continue to matchup 4th lines against top lines.
A little outside the box, but I wouldn't be opposed to trying Voracek at C just to see how he does. He likely hasn't played there in 10 years, but he can't be any worse than what they have there now. - PhillySportsGuy
I've been on board with moving Raffl to 2C since Coots first went down. However, I don't want Schenn back at 1LW. He's been a cancer to every line he's been on thus far this year. Not a lot of options though.

Because a game in which they dominated and lost would be better?
2 points are 2 points. - opeth_pa
Ha. The Flyers night wasnt depressing at all. You know who had a depressing night? Edmonton. 29 seconds from victory and they give up the tying goal to Kane (the OTHER Kane... the one who had his 2nd and 3rd goals of the season last night) and then go on to lose in OT.

Schenn was a 59 point scorer, playing predominantly on the Wing. Need to give it a shot.
The process is a better predictor of future results than past results. But you're right, we should be very happy they got 2 points last night. - JFlyers00
Sometimes your goalie costs you a game and sometimes he wins you a game..
Sometimes you dominate and lose..Sometimes you play horrible and win..
Sports arent static and the process right now is that they have won 6 in a row most of which they have outplayed the other team while games like last night they didnt..
Ill take that based on previous results..
One thing is clear...No Coots and Gudas = lots of wins!

It matters now. There are a lot of young core players now playing. Experience matters now for ghost, prov, konecny, etc. I get what your saying if its a group of vets scrounging to get in but the complexion is changing. The team is much better at this point this year than it was last year, so not sure where your coming from.
