theyve gotten outplayed in 2 of the games and outplayed the rangers in the game they lost before the streak. the win streak isnt sustainable, but the success is - YuenglingJagr
I wouldn't say they necessarily outplayed the Rangers. They outshot them, but for the most part all the shots were on the perimeter. Easy saves for Lundqvist. While the Rangers goals Mason had zero chance on all but one of them. |

Something about his game? fighting with the coach? I mean Taylor Leier is replacing him. - manvanfan
It's because he got into a slap fight with Hakstol over the ice time distribution to VandeVelde and Bellemare. |

He's hit a rut for sure. But Giroux is no more effective creating offense at even strength. Voracek is making everyone look better right now. This team is riding Jake, Simmer, Provorov, and Mase hard right now - Just5
Agreed, powerplay goals don't count in the final score.
For what it's worth, Giroux and Simmonds have the same amount of even strength goals over the streak. |

Really glad to see Jake get the winning goal. He had a rough night and you could see the frustration all game.
Loved seeing Provorov get on Jagr's nerves - Tomfan365
Jake was a shooting machine last night. But couldn't get anything past Reimer until that winner. He definitely had some pent up agression after a few of the chances.
Bundy must have talked with Provy about how to grate on Jagr's nerves I loved it when Jagr took the penalty and went back at Provy and Provy was like "Nope not biting." Jagr looked like he had his typical game against Philly in Philly.

Which specific "fair amount" of games have they been outplayed during the streak? Can't be Calgary (which, by the way, Mason didn't play), Ottawa, Chicago, or Nashville. They definitely got outplayed by Boston, though. Does 2 our of 6 constitute "a fair amount?" - jmatchett383
Well that 1/3 rd of the games, or for our analytics crowd 33%

That is not #fancypossible. In an 82-game season, the closest they could get would either be 67.07% or 65.85%.

fancy stat #2 of the day. The Flyers have 12 out of 12 points because in all the games those points were up for grabs they scored more goal than their opponents. |

It might be best for the team to move Raffl to center in order to have another competent line. Move Schenn up to 1LW despite his struggles and put Raffl between Simmonds and Konecny. They can't continue to matchup 4th lines against top lines.
A little outside the box, but I wouldn't be opposed to trying Voracek at C just to see how he does. He likely hasn't played there in 10 years, but he can't be any worse than what they have there now. |

Analytics are used to generate graphs and tables. Those graphs and tables are then used to try to win games. Last night, the Flyers used better graphs than the Panthers. |

He hasn't played enough this season while Leier has been tearing it up in the AHL at ES, and on the PP and PK. - Feanor
Also Leier is a wing which is what Matt Read is whereas Laughts is still looked at as either a Center or Wing. Team seems unsure of where he really fits. |

Step 1: trade Streit
Step 2: bring up Morin right after the deadline
Step 3: have AMac join Schultz in the press box
Step 4: Put Morin in

Mission accomplished - BiggE
Since even if we would make the playoffs we are far from a Stanley Cup team...I'd love them to take it one smidge further...

Bringing them both up and getting rid of MDZ makes it pretty likely that you won't make the playoffs. Not only that, but Sanheim will be getting more minutes, especially more PP time, at the AHL level than the NHL level. Let him have a full year down there unless they're out of it come mid-March. |
