They can be bad, and can linger. It's a shame, he was playing well.

Crap... I had a bet he'd get 15 by trade deadline.
Not that he was getting to 15 anyhow. |

Leier called up, Laughton sent down.
I noticed Bill on twitter trying to educate a clueless Mason basher. A+ for effort, but some people are lost causes. |

That's a good move. Laughton needs to play and figure some things out.

Yes, he needs a lot of minutes after all the time he missed. |

I think Leier's been deserving of a call up for a while now. Sucks it has to happen because of an injury, especially to Read who's been solid all year. |

I agree, it does suck. Read has had to battle injuries for a while. Sometimes though these situations can have a silver lining. Let's see what Leier can do. |

Might as well give him his money now so he can spend it on his girlfriend for Christmas. |

Sucks for Laughton, but this is a logical move. Leier has been playing very well for Lehigh Valley and has earned a shot. Unlike some of the other options he should be able to easily assume a bottom six, two way winger role and even help on the PK.
I doubt the Flyers feel Weal could do that, given his size and style of play. Laughton should be able to do that, but he got buried after his bad turnover against NY and seems he's got to dig his way out of the doghouse. Plus Laughton does probably need the expanded ice time he's likely to get in the AHL |

I like the Leier callup. His PK was impressive in the preseason. Laughton I'm pretty worried about. I don't think extensive AHL time is going to help him in what he needs to work on. He needs to be better at moving the puck quicker and he needs to be more aggressive in taking away time and space. Lets hope he improves.
If only Cousins had Laughtons skating ability we might have a 2C |

Not yet. Hes just a pre fart right now. They need to send him to the AHL and leave him there for a few months. No yo-yoing.

I'm still puzzled in my quick scroll through Debate Club today how giving up 60% of goals when you're on the ice in your Flyers career (the worst on the team), having the highest goals against/60 on the team, and the lowest goals for/60 -- all in what are supposed to be soft, cushy, low event minutes as a prototypical plug...err excuse me, "reliable" 4th liner -- is NOT being "heavily outscored."
It's the very definition! - Mononoke

All the majors have signed on already for season 2 (though it's not coming back until 2018). I don't know what you were watching haha, but they really set the table well for moving forward with the characters and world. Many possibilities. It was so full and rich I'm going to have to watch it again!
And I think it was Evan Rachel Wood who called Season 1 a "prequel" to the real story.
Also, it wasn't in the finale, so it's not really giving anything away, but there was something on the pretend-real Westworld website afterwards that had a hidden clue in base code that translates to a website with a video of Elsie's voice. Ooooo. - Mononoke
Great news - thanks. But it certainly looked like Anthony Hopkins and Ed Harris were killed at the end, unless Hopkins was using a host replica of himself. And with the the other hosts reaching consciousness and killing the people at the party, you'd have to figure they'd shut the park down... So I'm really interested in seeing where they go with this. |

I don't think he really got a chance to bounce back after his injury. But they need to make up ground and there's no place else for him to get the ice time |

It's possible it was a Ford host, but personally, I think it makes more dramatic sense to actually have died there, just as Arnold did. Plus getting AHop to commit to multiple seasons at his age seems like a tough task. It really makes sense to me that he's pulling a Ned Stark, but who knows?
Ed Harris has already confirmed he's returning. And he didn't die -- he just got winged in the shoulder. And he looks like he's about to cry tears of joy that he got shot haha. He wanted a game with real violence and real stakes and for the hosts to fight back. He's got it.
Also, the other hosts didn't reach consciousness. They were just doing what Ford programmed them to do in his new narrative. Same with Maeve. She was just in a narrative...until she left the train (idk if you saw but it said something about "Mainland Infiltration" when she saw her code) to look for her daughter presumably. That felt like free-will but not quite consciousness. The only character we know is fully conscious is Dolores, because we saw her bicameral minds merge. It stands to reason that Maeve and Bernard are not far behind. And what happens next is the ensuing chaos. |

Laughton needs to play and get his confidence back. He needs to get back to doing what he can do consistently. The AHL is the place where he can do that.

Bravo on the analysis. I really have appreciated this whole season and thought it was a fantastic finale. Answered a ton but also opened the door to so many possibilities. Only things unanswered for me were who was Ford building in that basement and what happened to head of security guy (Ashley Stubbs I think?). The Samurais and the SW logo and Maeve's daughter location on the paper tease other parks/worlds |
