As good as Mason was last night, he let up two third period goals which allowed Boston back in it. That cant happen.
- jak521

Yes, two routine saves that he had no chance on.

I tried.

They still wanted me to throw in a prospect. Even the AI wasn't falling for it.

I understand.

I mean if this team is on the bubble or out of a playoff spot I fully think they should move Streit, Del Zotto or even Schultz if they can get good offers to help the team now or in the future.

- J35Bacher

Not sure they would have any value. Get whatever you can.

I know the picture is the future but how long do these defenseman continue to play? Right now the only defenseman I feel good with on the ice are Manning, Gudas, Provorov and Gostisbehere(most of the time)

Edit: And Del Zotto mostly.

It kills me when I see Streit, MacDonald and Schultz.

- J35Bacher

I know what I'm getting when Schultz is out there so he don't bother me. I know he'll block some shots and stay mostly in his lanes.

That's exactly why a team would be interested in adding Schultz for defensive depth, at some point. Won't get a high pick, but they'll get something.

All will have value at the deadline, GM's consistently overpay for Dmen.

Streit, especially if the Flyers retain 50% of the cap hit, will likely get them at least a 2nd.

MDZ if he's playing well, could land them a late 1st. GM's go way overboard for mobile top 4 Dmen.

Schultz obviously has less value than the other 2, but his low cap hit combined with many GM's love of veteran shot blockers, he'd still land them at least a 4th.

He's a steady guy who gives you pretty solid defensive work. He's speed is below average but you know exactly what he's going to offer every shift.

Sounds like someone else on the team who, unlike Schultz, has yet to be scratched.

Nonsense. All of the Flyers are terrible and the GM/coach never make good decisions.

I know I'll probably get told I'm wrong but on the one huge save that was a scramble where it looked like Mase made the slide across telescopic pad save. Did Provorov get that with his glove? Sure looked like it on the big board in the arena. My section was going nuts when we thought Provorov got that one. No matter what that was a HUGE stop.

Also, Mr. BiggE, I have an irrefutable truth for you.

The Moody Blues, one of the pioneers of progressive rock, are about 20 times better than Rush.

I thought so too at first, but it was 100% Mason.

A very good reason for why that has happened was given yesterday

I thought the same exact thing. Boucher, who is pretty good, stated that Mason slid over and got it, and I didn't think the puck actually got through to Mason. It was only until I saw one replay angle that it actually did get on net, and it was a great save by Mason. One of many last night.

My opinion on what MacDonald is, is accurate. Perhaps you think I think he is better than he is. I use no bias in my analysis of any player, or any play. As an example, earlier this season, I called for MacDonald to be taken out of the lineup, due to his deteriorating play in a game.
- MJL

I liked MacDonald's game in the first two periods ( I didn't notice any gaffs)...I think he struggled in the third, but the whole team sat back...I think overall the defense play for the entire team struggled but they got the job done and their goalie bailed them out when he needed too for the most part. Mason was superb last night.

The criticism of Mason and Neuvirth early in the season was completely justified. However, if you can't see that Mason is now playing very well, you may want to schedule an eye exam. Also, if you thought Mason was anything short of spectacular last night, you may want to consult a proctologist because you need someone to help you remove your head from your ass.

Solid list

I wish I could do a list easy but with my music tastes it's just too convoluted,

I agree, that he was not as good in the 3rd as he was in the first two periods. Flyers aren't going to win many games playing like that, where the goalie has to make grade A save after save.
