For me, every player on the roster is available for the right offer.
And no, I would not move Schenn for a 3rd line center. For whatever reason, he and Giroux don't seem to mesh well. It happens. It's not NHL 17 where you throw 3 skilled players together and they all become 60-goal scorers, their skill sets have to mesh. I don't think letting him sit on the 4th line is a good long-term solution, and if TK moves up to the top line, he's your best option (currently) to slide back up into the top-6. - jmatchett383
I like Schenn and want him to succeed because if that happens it is better for the Flyers. But then sometimes I wonder if he is more of a glorified grinder sometimes.
I don't know. I guess I feel like there is too much similarity in skills in some of the players in the top 9 |

Schenn is overrated - Scoob
In a way I kind of feel that way. Don't know what it is but recently watching games I feel like the Flyers have similar types of players in the top 9.
I don't know. Maybe it's because they are just so frustrating right now with the inconsistent play. |

kinda like saying AMacs contract was a bad signing...it was obviously bad before it started, but him not playing kind of eliminates him as a problem |

Schenn is overrated - Scoob
He's inconcistent. If he can play close to what he played with in both the 2012 and 2016 playoffs, he'd be well worth the money. If he continues to play more passively, then yeah, not worth it.
I kinda think that BS 3-gamer got to his head and he doesn't want to cross the line, which is taking away a lot of whatever aggressiveness he has. |

They will believe them, but they may not want to, and they will most likely dismiss them. |

Being out best forechecker and throwing his body around with consistency and purpose, not playing on the perimeter...yeah, that. |

I feel bad for Carson Wentz. For Crissakes Howie, get the kid some linemen and receivers! Oh, and some cornerbacks would be nice too.
On the Flyers:
All in all I'm mildly disappointed so far this season. On the plus side, I love watching how quickly Provorov and Konecny are developing and I think vets like Simmer, Gudas and Manning are having excellent seasons. Ghost I can somewhat excuse as a lot of very talented players seem to struggle in their second NHL season, I think he will come around and be fine.
On the other hand, I'm very disappointed in the play of vets like Giroux and Streit and to a lesser extent, Del Zotto, AMac and Weise. The goalies, for the most part, have been atrocious and their early season play is simply inexcusable. The rest of the squad has pretty much performed to my expectations. We rip guys like VdV, but they are what they are and it's not their fault that they aren't producing more.
When it comes to management and coaching, it's a mixed review moreso re the coach. I like Hak's system a lot, and I understand to some degree the scratches and benching of some of the "better" players. What I don't understand is why some players (Streit in particular stands out) are allowed to mess up time and time again, while others make one or 2 miscues and they're out of the lineup. I also think he needs to make better use of his timeout and be a bit more patient with some of his line combos. When it comes to the GM, I'm fully on board with rebuilding from within, I'd just like to see him try and add one experienced veteran that can play in the top 9 and can add some leadership and grit to the lineup. Losing guys like Briere and Timonen over the last couple of years has hurt, perhaps more off the ice than on, and trying to get a guy like that wouldn't be a bad idea. - BiggE
I think this is all fair. I'm tired of picking at one player as a way of venting. Scott Laughton for example was getting the Konecny love for three seasons and guess what? He's never made steps towards being a full time NHLer. He's the forgotten man. He's someone who deserves criticism but doesn't get it. As for Mark Streit, I would have traded him last summer and I would trade him for anything right now. I'm a believer in not scratching a player who wears a letter but I'm laying off this belief.
What this team boils down to for me, the team goes as Giroux goes. Trying to rashionalize this team in any other way is embarrassing. There are a lot of guys who need to improve but we need our best players to be our best players. |

I'm not moaning about VdV being in the lineup, I'm just trying to make the point....
oh, why bother. Arguing with you is liking playing chess with a pigeon. No matter what happens, the pigeon will just poop all over the board and declare itself the winner.

Can't we all just agree that Pepsi is superior to Coke (basic, no cherry/vanilla/etc.) and that Rocky and Bullwinkle was nothing more than anti-Communist brainwashing for American kids? |
