I can cherry pick stats also. Vandevelde has a solid 52.54CF% and in GA/60 at 4 on 5, Vandevelde is second best among the regular PK forwards, surpassed by only Simmonds.
Your read on what it shows, is inaccurate. Talent is just that. Scott Laughton is a lot more talented than a number of players in the lineup, but that doesn't mean he automatically plays. - MJL
Your understanding of the Law of large numbers, is inaccurate. |

Oh look how hard this game is...
Boston, the team the Flyers are playing tonight, have 3 goals scored by Patrice Bergeron, their best player. He makes 7.5 times as much as Dominic Moore, but Dominic Moore has twice as many goals. Bergeron is also tied with a guy I am sure you've never heard of named Tim Schaller.
Seriously, why are you even on here? - YuenglingJagr
Bergeron missed 4 games due to injury |

In response to BiggE .......I have mixed feelings. I expected a 7-8 seed again for the playoffs and I ALWAYS root for the playoffs but part of me feels as tho missing the playoffs could be the best thing in the sense that they will try to move all of the UFAs like Streit and Schultz and call up kids like Morin and Leier to get some experience. - nastyflyergirl
I seriously doubt they will be far enough out at the deadline to go full sell mode.
I still expect a wildcard spot. Overall, the team has played better than their record indicates. Goal-tending has been better as of late, hopefully cleaning up the defensive miscues will follow. |

Overall, the Flyers have played as well or better than the majority of their opponents. However, seemingly every mistake, glaring or otherwise, has ended with the puck in their net, whether it was misplayed by the goalie or the team left the goalie with no chance. As you said, the tending has improved, but if the Chinese fire drills in the defensive zone continue and their neutral zone play doesn't improve, their record won't either. |

Even if they are in the 7-8 seed bubble spot could you really turn down a solid offer for Streit or another UFA? |

I think the Flyers houdl look into bringing back Claude Vilgrain, one of the few (if not only) Haitian Americans in league history. |

For me all the UFA's would definitely be available.
Serious question... If Raffl is a better fit on the top line with Giroux over Schenn and now you have Konecny in that 2nd line role, would you entertain moving Schenn for a 3rd line center? Maybe something like Schenn for Riley Sheehan or in that category?
You also drafted a lot of wings recently. I just wonder if signing Schenn might have been a little misguided over maybe other options. |

Why? Gordon was acquired for a purpose and as far as I can tell, hasn't done squat. |

For me, every player on the roster is available for the right offer.
And no, I would not move Schenn for a 3rd line center. For whatever reason, he and Giroux don't seem to mesh well. It happens. It's not NHL 17 where you throw 3 skilled players together and they all become 60-goal scorers, their skill sets have to mesh. I don't think letting him sit on the 4th line is a good long-term solution, and if TK moves up to the top line, he's your best option (currently) to slide back up into the top-6. |

I agree. I'm pretty confident that those fire drills will decrease as well. Its really tough when both goal-tending and team defense are atrocious together. Usually you rely on the other when one is struggling. I just think the team status is way overblown here. They're much closer than people realize to moving up in the standings.
I believe they were 9-10-5 last year at this time. |

I think the Flyers value a lot of Streit's intangibles so it may take a better offer than you'd think.

A decline of Giroux should not be shocking to anyone. Nor should it make him a disliked player.
The organization needs to address it, instead of the approach they took with the defense years ago. |
