That was a weak penalty call in my mind, was just a routine stick lift and the Bruins players stick broke, ref shouldn't have even called that. It's not like he overhand slashed the stick and broke it
- FreshFlyer

Looked like he hit down on the Bruins stick to me. That's going to be called the majority of the time.

Might be the best period they have played overall all season. Creating some good 5 on 5 chances, made some turnovers early on but actually recovered for a change and Mase has been solid.

19 saves on 19 shots for bad goalie Steve Mason, may have to upgrade him to adequate goalie Steve Mason
- BiggE

Flyers gave up two games worth of grade A scoring chances in that period alone. Man, they have to tighten up.

Nope, definitely a slash down on the stick. Just look at how it broke.

Lyubimov should never be scratched again, he is all over pucks in the offensive zone, really brings the forecheck
- FreshFlyer

he's really good. i'll go so far as to say if he's not scratched they win some of those games they lost, and it could be the difference at the end of the season. just saying.

He lifted his stick then it broke that's why it's called a stick lift sorry you saw it a different way but that is what happened if you don't think so then watch it again

It's called a slash, and it was a penalty, and a good call. Raffl slashing the stick, caused it to break, which led to a turnover in the D zone for Boston, and a potential offensive chance for the Flyers. That's going to be called pretty much every time.

I like what he brings to the table, he's really quick, and effective on the boards. More often than not it seems like he comes out on the winning end of those board battles and that's something the Flyers haven't been great at this season, actually sustaining pressure in the offensive zone. I think he has to stay in the lineup just for that reason alone. Hopefully Hakstol sees the same things

He's a player that could have some offensive upside once he gets fully acclimated.

he's quick, makes quick smart decisions, seems to be in the right place at the right time, works hard, and makes things happen.

he needs to be in the lineup.

Yes it's a PPG and I get the joke but man. Would really like to see some consistent threatening 5-on-5 shifts. He makes 8,750,000 a year.

Do you realize how many times players lift each others stick in a hockey game alone, all the time all over the ice. You obviously haven't played the game with the way you're describing it. Raffl lifted the other players stick from underneath which does require some force to it, but it wasn't an overhand slash, the other players stick happened to break and if it didn't it definitely wouldn't have been a penalty call.

For sure he does, I want to see Read put with him and Schenn, I think those 3 together would create some quality chances. VDV holds that line back offensively in my opinion

If it was a stick lift, I'd agree with you, but it was not. It was an absolute overhand slash by Raffl. Your comment about me obviously not haven't played the game, is nonsensical. All it takes is eyesight to see what it was. Done with this.

JFC do we have an entire page arguing the merits of a slash down on a stick by Raffl?

For (frank)'s sake....just determine what is the objective truth and move on.

Shots against don't tell the whole story like I said they turned the puck over int he early going but rebounded nicely. Usually they just allow the scoring chances for the other team to pile up nice to see them fight back for once
