NFL Football, real sports.
- VanHockeyGuy

boring, commercials every 2 minutes, some of the rules suck, the athletes are better but the game is slower, I will take the cfl anyday.

We suck vs Dallas even with a good lineup. I watched that entire game vs EDM last night and DAL was not only in the game all the way they dictated a lot of the speed.

We are in trouble Sunday.

Unreal watching McDavid and how he can skate around guys though that guy is a gem.

- LordHumungous

That kid is frickin absolutely amazing with what he can do at top speed, which is fast! The Oilers were so (frank)in lucky 🍀 to finish third last and land him. That's payback for Buffalo, us getting Talon and them Perreault

Yeah WTF, I don't think Benning wants to try and even win anymore.
- manvanfan

Ya, not picking up a tiny forward that can't crack the Leafs 4th line sure says I'm not interested in winning.

Eriksson will get 12 this year and 30 next year. Always starts slow with new teams.
- LordHumungous

He should give back half his salary for this year then!

Oh yeah because the leafs didn't beat the canucks this season and have a better record.

Ya because a tiny player with speed and excellent possession numbers isn't what van could use to help scoring.

Gulutzan will be fine for you guys he just needs time and personnel much like Van (although Gulutzan may already be a better coach than WD).

You guys gave away ALOT of goals without replacing them. Hudler Byron Jooris Colborne…and if Stajan is the best you can do on the 4th line you are in huge trouble. may as well have Skille out there Basically you have just brought in Brouwer.

regardless how good the Flames D and goaltending has the 'potential' to be you gotta replace the goals you lost especially in the bottom 6…and they haven't done that.

- LordHumungous

Hudler, colborne, jooris scored 39 goals last year ...have 4 this year
Chiasson, Brouwer, vetsteeg scored 41 last year ...have 8 this year

Byrons goals on a habs team has zero relivance

So that arguement is flawed

I can't believe Vantel just traded Auston Matthews for Sean Monahan. He's been dealing with a back issue, he missed training camp, he's gonna have a tough year....sorry.

im more concerned with having chiasson as a linemate ...but Johnny got it going last game so monny might start to produce ....but I would think Mathews will have easier matchups and plays in the east ...I do worry about his back this year though

Don't think so my friend you aren't looking to the potential goals in/out/lost you can't base it off one season. And of course Byron's potential goals count. He wasn't going to score if he stayed in Calgary?

Hudler goals as a Flame 58
Colborne as Flame 38
Jooris as a Flame 16
Byron as a Flame 13 + 15 as a Hab.

Chiasson last 3 years 22
Brouwer last 3 years 43
Versteeg last 3 years 17 (3 teams)

That's 140 goals to 82.

I'm sorry my friend but regardless as to how any of those players perform now that's a lot of goals out potentially and almost (just over) half not coming back in.

Big picture...

PAnthers claim Griffith.

Another missed opportunity.

Who knows .... they don't want small players here...? But mostly I think JB is trying to get WD fired. He doesn't see him developing this team. They sat him down in the summer so you got to wonder that their confidence is low with him.

He's a rookie, I'm sure he'll get 50 points, my thoughts were Monahan has a nagging back issue. Thus his struggles this year.

Watch the Lions game, the Stars will walk all over the Canucks even with their depleted lineup, they're still a fast skilled team and it looks like Jamie Benn woke up.

I'm not worried about the defence it's the awful coaching that annoys me ...Hamilton gets grossman jokipakka as partners and less minutes than deryk engelland ...Johnny and monahan get (frank)ing chiasson as a linemate ....let's stifle your most offensive players and play bums ....

This is what happens when you hire an assistant coach from a bad team

At least with a good draft pick they can trade for a goalie now now

- Redmile247

They do the same thing here it's the WD school of thought ... for example weren't you paying attention to the DD deployments all last season

Nope. Waste of time.

Sedins are too slow and the supporting cast does not look good

I thought they looked good on paper this year but then the games started

- VANTEL

I hear you and may be true .... though here's some other way to look at it...

Kane could help now and long term if he doesn't cost young core or future picks .... but doubt it anyway cause Sabers need scoring help.

Sedins were always slow that's not the issue... they just need help gaining blue line which can be from fast puck carrying D or linemate that can retrieve puck. Sendins are smart enough players to be relevant they are not the problem.

Supporting cast is either not good enough or not playing well enough.... or a bit of both. To really find out only move left is change coaching once a few injuries come back maybe the paper product on ice might get a fair shake.

It's not likely the team is much better then now but the games may be more entertaining.

Yes so you know ... and agree too... the perception from the blog was that maybe Stars will be ripe for the picking .... so following your astout know how I add to that view Stars will be tougher now.

Canucks could not deal with their speed last season either.... let's see how WD plays them now...could be his last game if it's a disaster and crowd turns on him.
