Meh, they showed last year without Price they are not very good and the offseason moves didnt do much to change that for me. Montreal has some nice pieces and will fight for a playoff spot, but I also think that Vancouver can be doing the same - WhiteLie
Sorry I respectfully disagree, they had an off-year last year with injuries, their lineup is head and shoulders above what the Canucks can currently throw out there. I'm not saying they're Cup shoe-ins, but on a one on one basis, they have far superior players.
In today's NHL their players speed and individual skill sets them apart, never mind Gallagher has averaged 20 goals a year over the past three years and he's only 24 years old, Galchenyuk scored 30 goals as a 21 year old last year, Pacioretty scored 39-37-30 goals over the past three years and he's only 27, Shea Weber is one of the best dmen in the league, hell Plekanec at 33 is no better or worse than Henrik at 36, their numbers would suggest that.
I'll just leave it at that but I definitely think they're a better team if you're comparing the two teams. |

Meh, Plekanec is better in his own zone than Henrik.....aside from that I'll still take 36 year old Hank any day. Aside from that, I agree.
To add, Radulov has played like a beast this season.

I would take 37 year old Markov over any of our D men. |

BUFF seems to be doing okay without Kane, winning their last 3 games. |

I do acknowledge that the players on their lineup are closer to their primes, while most of Van's are on the decline or still raw. And Weber can certainly do enough to compensate for their other defenders, I just personally see them, despite all those guys, being around the same position as Vancouver come springtime. They are constantly being outshot which tells me they still rely heavily on Price
I knew my comment would strike with some people, figured it was worth a little discussion on based on early season hype and hystera |

Nah, he's pretty slow. He'd be a great mentor and all but he looks a little broken already this season. I'd take Weber over any 2 of them though. |

I would be willing to bet he still outscores on of our D this year. |

Do you honestly think Edler is a better D-man than Markov?

Maybe, but I bet if he played on our D it would be close......and he'd give up a hell of a lot more goals than he scored.
Had you said this 2 years ago compared to our D today i'd agree no problem. It's kind of like saying you'd take Hank over any of their C's. |

Ok so Tanev and Edler are better defensively, I agree but they are also much worse offensively. Overall he's still a better player in my books.

I think he would of outperformed our players on our team last year. I would take Hank over any of their C's at this point but a bit tricky because hard to tell what Hank is without dank. |

I was expecting him to be immediately recalled, couldn't have gotten too far, I think he was out for the game day skate yesterday before being sent back to Utica. |

Tanev is better defensively than Larssen by a large margin. But Larsen is also much better offensively by a large margin and can improve that. I doubt Larssen ever becomes the defensive stud Tanev is. Tanev would have huge value right now n the league, and likely made higher by the fact that multiple teams are looking for a RHD that can do what he does, esp under his contract. |

Well Edler had more goals last year, with fewer PPG in less games played. Markov's offensive instincts are head and shoulders above those two but his skills are eroding, and quickly.
I really respect your opinion, just would rather have a defensive stalwart in Tanev than a 4th D which I think Markov is at this point in his career. Again, turn back the clock and I agree. |
