Ducks make official release of Mason Raymond from his contract. Veteran winger didn't report to AHL San Diego, citing family reasons.
Guessing he was on a 1 way contract... surprised to see him walk away from the $ |

Remove Price/goaltending from the comparison and I would take Vancouver's lineup over Montreal's. Montreal getting contributions from their bottom 6 isnt sustainable, I think they are very fortunate to be where they are and will see a drop off soon enough - WhiteLie
WTF

Thanks Carol, hopefully they have another solid effort, although they did shoot a lot of the pucks right at Price. - Makita
I wouldn't be too hard on your team for that, it's what Price does best, always in perfect position to make what looks like an easy save.
Nucks gave a very fast team zero room while putting a lot of shots on goal.
You'll win more than you lose playing that way. |

Prospect update, the NCAA guys are looking good - WhiteLie
Thanks for sharing but I can't stand it when publications get this wrong.
Defenceman Carl Neill is in his over-age season with the Sherbrooke Phoenix of the QMJHL and is off to a great start with 13 points (2-11-13) in 12 games. The Canucks' fifth round pick in 2015 is coming off a 50-point (8-42-50) in 64-game season in 2015-16.
It's not over-age it is overage, |

The name being floated out there was Ryan Spooner
That's quite the step down from Taylor Hall |

Sorry man, but I disagree, their D is miles better and think the argument could be made that their top forwards are better than ours as well. - belcherbd
Shea Weber makes it tough, I think hes great and makes the overall D better but I think Emelin and Markov are extremely over rated, giving Van an edge in depth
Top 4 of Edler-Tanev-Hutton-Gudbranson I would take over Weber-Emelin-Petry-Markov
Top 6 of Sedin-Sedin-Louie, Sutter-Hansen-Granlund again I would take over Radulov-Galchenyuk-Gallagher, Patches-Desharnes(or Pleks)-Shaw. They might have more future upside with the two Gallys but as a group of 6, they wouldnt scare me
Im not saying one team is miles ahead of the other, I just think Montreal is extremely overrated and not that different from Vancouver |

If Larsson gets Hall, Tanev should be fetching Pastrnak but I don't think the Hall trade is a true measuring stick.
With Benning's history we will likely move Tanev, rights to Grenier and a 7th for the 50th overall pick. |

Meh, they showed last year without Price they are not very good and the offseason moves didnt do much to change that for me. Montreal has some nice pieces and will fight for a playoff spot, but I also think that Vancouver can be doing the same |

Don't get me wrong, I think Montreal is over-rated but I certainly do think they are much better than Van's current roster.

that came out too negative vs. the Canucks I think.
These teams just didn't lineup well from the getgo was my point. (I'll take Horvat, Virtanen and the new "breed" over Sedinx2, Lapierre, Burrows, Bertuzzi, Bieksa, Kesler, etc. etc. any day). There is a rebuild buried somewhere in there. - JLO961
