Yeah it's been frustrating but they have been on the losing side of most of that since then and it's cought up to to the team. So to turn the tide will take increments of success in some of those areas of drafting, trading and UFA's. The jury is out if JB can do it ... others say no ... and some say he's only got drafting. He was ranked last among other GM's mostly because his plan isn't clear cut and the team seems to be in limbo. But some progress has been made. If it's significant enough time will tell.

Typically a GM gets 2 coaches, regardless of tenure. A long-tenured GM with some success will often get more.

Personally, I hope it takes a bunch more losses because the last thing I want to see is a new coach come in and spark the team to a 9th-10th place finish. Scotty Bowman couldn't get this team into the playoffs.

I am thinking maybe after this road trip. It's the only move JB can make, you can't fire the players. Everyone knows what Van needs so if they are going to trade with us then we will over pay, which will be a huge mistake on JB's part.

So yeah, still gonna go with suck and isn't extreme. It's not hateful as a fan to realize your team isn't good.

Hell, half the battle is realizing that. After you come to that conclusion, you can start figuring out what it really takes to make them good again. In our case, it's elite talent.

Maybe you also misunderstood that saying the margin of error for this team is thin means it's not that good.

Why trying to voice a moderate point is so difficult it gets misunderstood by both sides of the extreme as being one or the other. When in fact it's agreeing with parts of the view but downplaying the totality of it.

So yes have been saying the same thing this team needs to develop and add more elite talent to be better.

You are doing it again reading half of the sentence and making a conclusion that isn't there. Put down the drink. Read again and then realize that none of what you said was stated.

Whiskey and I were talking about how the team needs to turn around and have let us down from their promises these last few years. Increments of success is that there are no quick fixes or one road methods. It will take a combination over time of drafting well, making impactful trades and signing key UFA's that become part of the rebuild.

What would it take to get him out of retirement?

Anyone ever see The Room? It's probably the worst movie ever made, one of the most unintentionally funny things I've ever seen. As I watched the Sedins spend the last ten seconds of the game passing the puck to each other behind the net I realized that I was laughing out loud.
