Bennings plan (if one is to believe that he actually has one) seems to be working in the sense that he's building from the net out.

Goalies and D have been pretty darn solid the last 10 games yet there is very little talent up front. Unfortunately, I don't see that being fixed ( lack of both depth and assets) for some time.

Even IF Brock comes in as a Calder candidate next season, that still won't be enough to drive this offense lol.

have you seen a good bounce go in, that's all it takes, I have played competitive hockey for a long time and its a mental thing now for sure. There playing quite well just cant get a bounce.

Absolutely, but that has been the hopeful catch-phrase concerning this team since 2011.

Reread my answer it was balanced and did not tell you to ignore anything either. Your early conclusion is premature as there are a lot more games to play to see where they fall.

Last season they were in play off contention until injuries and poor play did them in. Their margin for error was even less last season as their roster was less talented and capable. Nothing outlandish here this is a rebuilding team who's margin to win is thin.

It doesn't make them a powerhouse or a presumptive cellar dweller. They could just as easily wind up there or make the play offs based on all the factors we have mentioned.

I think trading Tanev for a forward makes sense. But would need to be a young forward. Someone that can be here for 6+ years.

That seems possible if they think the young new guys are ready to fill in the hole ... it's one of our only assets beyond Hanson that may have plausible value and not hurt the rebuild

Cup contender was not said. Shouting out homer is dismissing anything other then an extreme point of view. That this team has zero chance to win any games or ever make the playoffs because they are just that bad.

Not discounting they could finish in the bottom third actually stated that along with why they could just as easily win enough to make the playoffs if the factors they need are executed.

What so hard to get about thin margin of error? It's the point that this team is Not good enough to make mistakes or miss opportunities to win. If so they will lose. What is so homer about that?!?

I believe you and that you do appreciate your wife and her views.

As for middle ground those people think they are being reasonable ... a couple bounces away from what ...The Cup... and anyone who says different is wrong? Yeah that's the classic definition of being extreme. The other end of extreme would say they are a couple bounces away from Last place and if you are dreaming if you think otherwise. The moderate would say bounces play a role but you need to create your luck and that works half the time.

Hell, half the battle is realizing that. After you come to that conclusion, you can start figuring out what it really takes to make them good again. In our case, it's elite talent.
