The longer he plays there the more he just becomes an AHL player. He needs to be given a chance and it ain't happening in Van. Van won't even give the guy a preseason game.

Besides, do you think he's going to get better then he is right now?

- Kaynine

He is only 21...his value is going up as long as his scoring continues to trend up. If he was waiver eligible and 24 then you would be correct. There is no rush.

Are the RFA's eligible for the expansion draft? I know UFA's aren't but not sure about RFA's
- Kaynine

They need to take on a minimum 20 contracts that extend beyond this year. I assume that signing a pending UFA counts as one of the 20 contracts since they count as selecting a player from that team, so they can select up to 10 unprotected RFA's

So, we are sending Stecher down to the minors, even though he's vastly outplayed Larsen and Biega (not to mention Tryamkin)?

How does the brass think stuff like this will fly with the players? When demotions are decided, not by their play on the ice, but by promises management made to underperforming players during the off-season?

Vegas can scoop an unprotected RFA or one of your pending UFA, then they can not take another player from you.

Depending on who is available after this season of posturing is complete, Miller might actually be an attractive goaltending option to Vegas and would count as Vancouver's selection

Going to go out on the ledge on this one and say he may be part of the Sky is Falling crowd?

I think he will get better playing more minutes there than playing fewer minutes here.

He is still young . Good to see him doing well hope he continues to grow.

- VANTEL

Id like to see him get a game or two to see where he is at.

Cassels, Laplante, pedan no points. Chaput looking like a sniper.

Yup Qualify him at 3.5 per 2 year deal and put him on the non protected list ' If he stays we got a goalie pairing for at least 2 years

Laplante has had some good tilts at least he is adding something. Cassels I think I remember that name, can't remember where from.

Pedan is Pedan

Stringer is a fascinating case study...he is clearly the head cheerleader for the sky is falling crowd but he is an anomaly as he isn't part of the drama queens clique

Miller is not eligible as his contract ends this season. Players must be signed for next year and beyond.

Vegas has access to UFAs prior to the draft and if they signed Miller then Vancouver are done with the draft. Pierre Lebrun sort of explained that the other day .

As long as he doesn't come to the circle jerk locker room.

I agree he needs to play more min to develop but I am just not sold on Van having faith in him. He's an offensive dman who cares if he isn't perfect in his own end. Use him like Larsen, on the PP and 3rd pairing. Just make sure he plays with defensively responsible players.

I'd consider it. He is our most valuable trade chip and he is proving to be somewhat injury prone. Young scoring forward and a 1st. sign me up

So even though he was an UFA u can protect him? He would have to resign wouldn't get?

I think they sat him down and said Son this is what you need to do to make the big league.

Seriously I don't know what's going on but I think it is a simple thing that they told him to fix his game and now he is doing it.

Larsen is more defensively responsible. He is a 21 year old 4th round pick. How many of these players make the NHL in their 2nd pro season? 5%? relax

Since NYR and MTL are looking for a player exactly like Chris Tanev, naturally he would fetch a good price.

Apparently the new development is that if Vegas signs a UFA during their exclusive window, they can no longer select a player from that team. So if they take Miller, that becomes their selection from Vancouver, and depending on which goalies are available (ie Bishop, or rookies like Subban/Valislevski) Miller might actually be an attractive to help groom a younger goalie as opposed to taking Sbisa/Gaunce/Biega/etc.

Habs have Weber and Petry on the right side, a left hand D makes more sense.

Miller is Canuck property until July first.

The expansion draft is in June. Canucks can not protect Miller unless he is extended. If Vegas come to an agreement with Miller while he is a UFA then that counts as the Canuck player taken by Vegas.
