I am still not there yet. If this team finds its scoring in the next few days or weeks.

I don't think Willie is a good coach . He is what is called a lame duck coach waiting to be fired.

The style that this team plays on O is horrible. Too much passing and not enough shooting and rebounding.

No hitting . no paying the price and a whole lot more of NO happening right now.

I agree don't trade to try and make the playoffs ,but if you can trade long term to improve then do it.

I think we missed the opportunity . I don't see anyone taking them now and I still hate that Linden cares for the name on the back of the jersey more than the one one the front.
- VANTEL

I've done a full 180 from when I used to say you can't trade them, I'm all for it now, once they get to 1000 points of course (selfishly).

But I agree, they missed the opportunity for a big return, now they'd have to eat 50% of their salary and the return would be ok but not great.

Well no one ever accused you of being of sound mind and intelligence when it comes to the game of hockey
- LeftCoaster

Just got through last nights posts..

Now my unsound and lacking intelligent response would be, that you posted a great post a couple of blogs ago that showed that you don't need to tank to be extremely competitive. The canucks drafted the Sedins and traded for all the other pieces that took them to the Cup final.

A lot of teams would still take the Sedins if they could A) afford them under the cap and B) convince them to waive their no movement clauses. Neither of which is going to happen so it's a moot point

I realize he's done well, but expecting it for 82 is a little much. I'm all for it, cause I think if it happens we will really bottom out as the best player (right now, anyway) on the left would be Sbisa... that would be funny.

I don't think JB gets enough credit, he inherited a sinking ship and has made some really solid moves IMO. I honestly am not sure about Kane, he's like that hot stripper you want to date: sexy attributes, but can they turn their lifestyle around?

I think Stecher could work with the Canucks more than JV is now. Too bad we didn't have that forward depth in Utica.

There was a graphic from CA I saw posted yesterday and it mentioned what the Canucks said or planned on doing vs. what they are actually doing. I thought they would be rotating the 7 and 8 dman in, I want to say a little more but it hasn't been happening at all. and if they were not afraid to tinker for the sake of developing or just switching things up, it might actually work.

Still relatively early in the season. I guess I should be patient.

I wonder what the debates are like between JB, TL and WD?

There's a bunch of ways to build, the WCE team was built thru drafting (Sedins, Ohlund, Cooke, Allen & Ruutu) AND great asset management thru trading diminishing players, something the Canucks currently lack or they refuse to do so.

How many goals did he have at the 40 game mark. Assists are fine when the team is scoring but this team is not scoring.

How many waiver picks have been scooped up so far and not released?

- VANTEL

9 of his 15 were in his first 40 games

The guys that have gone through waivers didnt have a season like Sven did last year (especially with the crap season the team had). There would easily be teams looking to give him a chance on their 3rd lines. Paajarvi, Frk, Pulkkinen havent had the same production nor have the same skillset

I'm curious about the players and what they are debating. One has to wonder if the players are getting a bit fed up with the lack of structure the team appears to have. If a loss occurs tonight I would suggest a 'players only' meeting to provide MNGT and coaching with a little guidance on what may work and won't work. All this shuffling isn't cutting it plus sending down Stecher is another head scratcher on the level with Horvat being placed with Burrows and Dorsett.

A lot of whining going on from the circle jerkers here after the Canucks best game.

I don't get I think people have female doged the most following the Canucks two best games against Edm and Mtl.

They are snake bit right now, only thing you can do is ride it out. No point in desperation moves. I'm glad they send Stetcher back and hope they send JV to join him.

I totally agree and I'm onside with the concept, but it doesn't have to be top 5, Ohlund 13th, Cooke 144th, wasn't Ruutu 3rd round. Yes Allen was 4th overall but did he live up to that?

I understand the higher the pick the "potentially" better prospect, doesn't always work out though

So? He's a RFA. Personally, I'd do what the jets are doing too: he hasn't proven he's there yet. At best 4 for 3 year bridge or take a year off. He'll sign, you'll see. He's not bargaining from a position of strength, he can say what he wants.

If I was WD I would try something like this just to avoid the predictability and speed issues .

JV yes can go down but Stecher looked like he deserved to stay. Can step into the top 4 pretty much immediately and fill needs...which is what we should be doing.

Still with the mixed messages. Thought the idea was a rookie had to be significantly better than a veteran to make the club. Stecher has looked good. Deserves to be with the club more than JV.

Wondering if the wcoh hurt more than it helped? LE penciled in with the Sedins, but hasn't had much of a chance to build chemistry with other team mates.

Seeing Horvat with Burr and DD is a bit disappointing if it is beyond the opening faceoff.

making the playoffs would be great, a top 5 pick would be good too... I just want the games to be hard fought, some scoring, and I can live with any outcome.

While I dont think it was their best game, I agree with the rest. Everyone looks out of sorts; passes aren't crisp and decision-making on the ice has been questionable. I really think on paper, excluding the goalie factor, that the Canucks have a better lineup of skaters than Montreal but things are clicking for them which has them in 1st.
