I hate this expansion draft - VANTEL
I made a mistake and edited. He's eligible to be taken in the draft, but yes the posturing/positioning is really messing with things |

It's going to make for plenty to talk about (cry about?) when the dust settles and we see which GMs left decent players exposed, similar to the waiver wire though, it's a reality of the game today.
on another note, i am liking the look of our forwards when healthy. It is what a lot of us were clamoring for at the start of the season. Now we just need some production.
i'm not worried about Erikson yet myself.
Hope to see Tryamkin get some action soon. |

I read today Flames are considering trading Dougie Hamilton
What did that cost a first and two seconds? - VANTEL
Wasn't the knock on Hamilton from Boston that he was bad news in the room? Wonder if that's filtering over to Calgary... |

That site that Carol posted says it all.

By my reckoning Elder NMC plus Guddy would be 3 D protected all other non exempt exposed.
Then 7 forwards to protect .... which would leave Granny, Guancy and Rodin if he plays 40 games open. So maybe Sedins waiving protection is a good idea. LV won't take one who would just retire. Plus one Sedin is useless to them.
That would leave them looking at our D ... Sbisa for sure and maybe Larson if he plays enough games. Does this sound right...? |

Not to the Canucks .... after Sven & Granny they won't send a high profiler to risk being haunted |

That would never happen.
If i was the GM of LV and a player like Henrik or Daniel Sedin was available, or course i would take him. In a heartbeat. He would be obliged to play for the team and then you'd hope to wine and dine him and convince him to resign (maybe bringing his brother too).
Captain material. Leadership. Great ambassador for the fans, plus still can play at a decent level.
No way would the Canucks risk this (not to mention no way would the Sedin's agents allow them to agree to this). That would go down as one of the biggest mistakes in franchise history. |

I'd rather trade Tanev for a top 6 forward.
I like our D depth as it stands.
Edler/Stetcher
Guds/Hutton
Larsen/Sbisa
Tryamkin
Pedan/Biega
expose Biega/Sbisa to LV.
Trade Tanev.

Yeah the rules are clear, but its just messing with things in how much positioning and preparations are being made (ie Sbisa/Biega games played requirement). Also it gets in the way of acquiring established talent, because unless you're dealing someone away, you've got to be aware of the impact on your protection list: If VAN wants to make a push for Fowler or Trouba, they have to send one of Edler, Tanev, or Gudbranson the other way to maintain 3 D worth protecting. |

Youre right there is no way they would do that. If there were more players they wanted to protect then they were allowed, they would just do a backdoor deal like the last expansion drafts. They talk with Vegas, Vegas says "we are going to probably take _____", Canucks say we want to keep him lets made a deal to send that player back to us |

the forward would be exposed at the draft and as of now we are fine for protecting defense. |

Not discounting what you said and just exploring what VAntel brought up.... but if they did this cause it would be their decision to do it not JB... it would be as I said with understanding they would retire. So would Vegas do it and for one it's not worth it for them. But if you say they would seek Canucks to trade Hank then that is a drafters special as the Senins as a package are not likely tradable and second have the NMC. So hey worst case scenario LV takes that plunge it would pump up the rebuild.
But I agree it's risky either way and probably not likely ... just to save Granny/Guance/Rodin if they don't bite on SBisa

Yeah that's possible but Canucks don't think have much to offer to protect what's exposed as the ask would be damaging to a rebuilding team |

I got to ask, what's with the "y" after players names, sounds stupid to me granny, if I was Granlund and anyone called me granny I'd pop them if the face, twice because it sounds dumb and demeaning. |
