It's early, they'll get it going sooner or later. Johansen is killing me in the hockey pool - LeftCoaster
yah maybe - two weeks in = still a question mark, I usually feel by game 20 you got a pretty good idea what you're seeing from a team is reality. (unless they change coaches and win a cup....)
but there's some strange sh&t going on around the league so far this year
Zetterberg 0g
Ekblad 1pt
Toews 1g
Iginla 1g - he might be on his last leg
Arizona two top scorers are Richardson and Vrbata...
Minnesota off to a great start with Staal leading the way - maybe a fresh start is what that dude needed
Vanek playing great after being written off and the Wings playing much better than expected...
Gives me hope that Eriksson will start to find his scoring touch. Larsen and Stetcher start to bury some point shots and just maybe Sven, Sutter and Granlund finally start producing. |

MTL would take Edler in a heartbeat...always been interest there.
What do we get coming back though? |

Weber Edler would be awesome as long as Edler doesn't introduce him to his stick guy. |

If you move Edler you want a first rounder back. Montreal are poised to win now.
I tell them Edler for Sergachev. When they say no then Edler stays here. |

MB would laugh at that. I highly doubt they give up a first (as late as it will be) for Edler. Marc Bergervin has always got value from his trades. 2nd + 5th for Petry was a steal. 5th for Flynn and 5th for Mitchell were great value. Sergachev is going to be insanely good one day, I don't think they give up anything more than a 2nd and MAYBE a 3rd or 4th for Edler. |

MB can laugh all he wants but they would still have a hole on D when they are trying to win now
Oilers also traded Hall for Larsen. They are not the smartest bunch when it comes to trades.
Canucks should not be trading their best Dman unless it is an offer you can't refuse. We don't need to move Edler he will be a good mentor for Juolevi |

I disagree, he certainly has more value than Hansen. I could see two 2nds. But...NTC and he likely wouldn't waive. |

Edler could have Weber or Tanev as a partner ,who would you chose. Montreal is a beautiful city with an easy travel schedule. An original 6 team and a chance to win now. I wouldn't say it's a slam dunk he wouldn't waive. |

exactly and a draft choice that low is insulting for Edler. So then we turn to player trades. and realistically Montreal have no one to offer - bcus we would need a D in return like Sergachev and thats not happening...
Honestly, they're not going to give up a D bcus thats what they lack, so then its a forward..
we'd want someone like Gallagher or Galchenyuk and thats definitely not gonna happen, then they'd offer us someone like Deshairnes, Danault or Byron and thats insulting and then it falls apart and we can end the conversation right now, cus Edler's NOT GOING TO THE HABS |

You are 100 % correct. If Montreal doesn't agree to Their top prospect then Vancouver says no thanks and waits until TDL and makes an offer to a competitor .We don't need to be in a rush, but if we are moving our top players it has to be for the right return. |

I agree Edler is not going to the Habs. All I am saying if they were inquiring there is only one return I would take.

If we were going to sell of good players for picks and do a proper rebuild we would have done it already last year. There has been no indication that we are going to do anything but "try" and be competitive and get a playoff spot. |

Correct, we aren't selling any of our key players unless they are UFA's. It's going to be a long road until we have some of our draft picks contributing. |

Even if we are 30 points out of a playoff spot by TDL, I see us being quiet and management gently coddling the fans and media that next year will be better.... |
