MB would laugh at that. I highly doubt they give up a first (as late as it will be) for Edler. Marc Bergervin has always got value from his trades. 2nd + 5th for Petry was a steal. 5th for Flynn and 5th for Mitchell were great value. Sergachev is going to be insanely good one day, I don't think they give up anything more than a 2nd and MAYBE a 3rd or 4th for Edler.

The 'Garbage 7' would have brought a boatload of picks & prospects.

Edler could have Weber or Tanev as a partner ,who would you chose. Montreal is a beautiful city with an easy travel schedule. An original 6 team and a chance to win now. I wouldn't say it's a slam dunk he wouldn't waive.

You are 100 % correct. If Montreal doesn't agree to Their top prospect then Vancouver says no thanks and waits until TDL and makes an offer to a competitor .We don't need to be in a rush, but if we are moving our top players it has to be for the right return.
