I thought he was the most NHL ready defender in the draft but Olli and Mikael have a higher upside in the future.

That seems the consensus.... something about hockey IQ

Funny, I remember when some in the media thought he could go 1st overall last year.
- NorthNuck

he was a consensus #2 pick before the season, I never heard of him being considered higher. I think out of everyone on here, I was ringing the bell to draft Chychrun all year. I hope JB is as good a judge of talent as were hoping because he looks good.

YEah they were going with Larson for a two RD look and Hutton with Edler with a two LD look on PP2 .... still wondering about that ....
- Nuck4U

Yeah that is kind of weird, personally I prefer 1 RH and 1 LH but have them play their off sides for multiple one time options

Speaking of, I saw Juolevis profile on the canucks youtube channel, he says his biggest inspiration is OEL. Hopefully he puts up points like that guy one day

That's actually a good game for him to model

He just seems to be more a straight forward type of D man and doesn't have that scoring intangible that the others have. Maybe he finds his scoring tough in the NHL wouldn't that be great for Arizona!

He's a twitter genius.

Good to see Loowingo found something he's good at. Would have been nice if he was as good at making saves on the road in Boston as he is with Twitter.

I was hoping for Serghachev due to the fact that he probably has a higher offensive ceiling. Either way your getting a quality guy. I see OJ as a Tanev type dman.

Burrows back in the Lineup Wednesday. Tryamkin might play. No word on Tanev

Really?! That's an interesting comparison. Juolevi seems a lot faster and offensive than Tanev already. 42 points in 57 games doesn't scream defensive d-man to me. I've truthfully only watched him in the WJHC's and was very impressed.

You and everyone on this page were for Sergachev.

I think Hamhuis is probably a lot better of a comparison.

Scored at just under a ppg in his draft year, went back to juniors and scored ppg and was named CHL defensman of the year.

Spent the next year in the AHL, then spent his rookie season in the NHL 3 years after being drafted and scored 26 pts in 80 games.

With any luck OJ is able to follow a similar path.

Hopefully next year we'll start to see some of Jim Bennings draft picks filtering into the lineup after his third year as GM. A lot more of the kids he's brought in, outside of Gudbranson, have really amounted to very little, I'm hopeful some of the kids he drafted turn out much better.

Based on lines at practice it looks like Larsen is out for Tryamkin and if Tanev is ready to go then Stecher will be out for him as they were alternating

Hate to say it but Burrows back is actually a better option than Skille or Zalewski.

Why can't Gaunce be like Horvat...

I follow the prospects closely and this is just a guess on my part, but I'd say, Juolevi, Boeser, Demko, Tryamkin, Brisebois and Lockwood are the only kids that have a realistic chance to play for the team. Some of the others, late rounders, may surprise, but I seriously doubt it.

Very impressive but don't forget he was passed over in his first chance of being drafted. Much like Neal last year.

I still think Guadette might end up being Benning's best value bet and is our best C prospect.
