The fact that there is no clear cut number 1 tells me there is no franchise players.
Tankers beware - VANTEL
Could use a couple extra first and second round picks. |

PLD was supposed to be in 20-25 range this time last year....there will be some stars that emerge |

He is not a franchise player either, has good value but more like a Horvat |

I don't see it...we need youth and speed on our 3rd line. Unless they can prove they can handle defensive zone starts they should retire. They currently are deployed almost entirely in the offensive zone. They are obviously great with the puck on their stick but retrieval is becoming an issue. - CanuckDon
It's not that I don't agree I just think it's something people around here need to wrap their heads around. The Sedins aren't Hamhuis or Bieksa or those types where they are basically done here even at their contract expiration. We should have plenty of speed up front by then where they can be placed in a 3-4 line leadership role(s).
It's not that I want it to happen but I will say to expect it.
Like I said the Sedins will find ways to produce even if the aging process bites them a bit more.
It's a better option than hanging on to the Burrows-Dorsetts-Skilles-Gaunces-Zalewkis of the world where we have pointless droughts for literally dozens of games.

Slow start in Jr.
I agree he will be good but same level as Bo.
Bo's numbers so far are ahead of Hanks first two years |

It's possible, in an ideal world, we won't need them anymore |

4 pts in 7 games isn't world beating but considering he is just returning from being cut I doubt it is a clear indication of what his talent is.
I would expect him to be a more physical player than Bo but who knows, Bo has overachieved at every level.

He has been off to a hot start offensively as well. 4g 3 a in 6 games, I do find it encouraging that he doesn't seem to have an issue competing physically and that his defensive issues are mental. |

Patrick is clearly No. 1 on TSN's Top 15 preseason draft rankings. Ten out of 10 scouts surveyed by TSN had him at No. 1 and no other prospect was close to him in voting.
"It's Patrick's spot to lose at this point," said one NHL head scout, "but this is a much different draft class than the last two."
Patrick certainly has the numbers you would expect from a potential No. 1 overall pick.
The Brandon Wheat King centre, who is entering his third Western League season, is almost 6-foot-3. He scored 41 goals and 102 points in 72 games last season in Brandon to help lead the Wheat Kings to the WHL championship, where he was named playoff MVP. |

yah maybe - two weeks in = still a question mark, I usually feel by game 20 you got a pretty good idea what you're seeing from a team is reality. (unless they change coaches and win a cup....)
but there's some strange sh&t going on around the league so far this year
Zetterberg 0g
Ekblad 1pt
Toews 1g
Iginla 1g - he might be on his last leg
Arizona two top scorers are Richardson and Vrbata...
Minnesota off to a great start with Staal leading the way - maybe a fresh start is what that dude needed
Vanek playing great after being written off and the Wings playing much better than expected...
Gives me hope that Eriksson will start to find his scoring touch. Larsen and Stetcher start to bury some point shots and just maybe Sven, Sutter and Granlund finally start producing. - Brooks_Light
