Hopefully Mac and Schultz sit. I don't know when the right time will be to trade Atreit but regardless of our place in the standings, I think it's time.

I hate to be pessimistic, but I have a feeling that Matt Read blew his load for the season early on. Still, it's nice to know he still has some touch. Anything in the 15-20 goal range from him would be nice.

I reallllly do not understand the idea that MDZ is just a disposable d-man. He just turned 26, has completely changed his game around over the past season and a half, can play in any situation, and has tons of experience. Why would we just move on that? If I were Hexy, I would be looking to lock him up for at least the next 4 years. By that point all the young guys who are going to make it should be up by then. Non of them should be pulling in HUGE contract by that point (aside from Ghost and maybe a bridge deal for Provy)...

He is the perfect stop gap for our transition.

My hesitation with MDZ is term. I don't think 4 years gets it done. I question his durability going forward. Not the biggest dman , plus injury issues the last couple of years. Not against bringing him back, but I could see why hexy would walk away. Spend more cap room to upgrade the third center position excuse organizationally not many options in the short-term.
