if naslund was a ranger it would have been dealt with, bert would have got 10 games and no media circus if he was a ranger. Messier should have been suspended after game 6 for breaking lindens nose with a cross check in the dying seconds. - Bettmanhatesus
This club is not important to any NHL market .... it has no natural rivalries or any impact to media coverage. It will get the bare minimum so expecting breaks or an advocacy is unrealistic .... life isn't fair and so why expect the NHL to be ... it sucks but that's life too at times. |

I don't think Jeff Skinner is interesting at all. - bloatedmosquito
What's wrong with him....?
Not saying he's on the block or Canucks can even trade for him .... or that he's a super must have player but what don't you like about his game....? |

SO the day after another loss and prior to the next grueling part of the schedule a 6 in 9 game eastern road swing ....
is this team going to bond more and find a way to defy the odds...?
Or more of the same we saw recently...?
You know be there until the end and lose cause they don't have enough people going to score by committee....or any snipers to push them over the top...let alone super stars to take over the game. |

Every playoff series the nucks have been in the reffing is way different than any other series, ferland gets penalized for charging, he was coming off the bench on a mission using his body as human projectile leaving his feet, I was yelling at the TV to low bridge the son of a gun, I have played d for 50 years and that's what I would have done, he wouldn't do it again or Hartley might make him to keep doing it, that's what he was he was an ahl former alcoholic dumby that was brought up to takes runs at the nucks d and burke used to work for the nhl so him and bettman are still buds so you think burke told bettman his plan who in turn told the refs not to call it I think so. Then theres that sj series in 2012 where the sharks were diving all over the place and the sharks were laughing about it and then danny gets a penalty in ot for a shoulder check just to put icing on the cake for a brutally reffed series and on and on. |

The media uses the canucks for all the wrong reasons, the same thing is happening in other rinks. |

The poster may be saying based on how he's been used he could have more success if put into more offense types of situations or with complimentary linemantes for said purpose .... that said he's potted 4 goals which is great... maybe he could do more.... for a team desperate for offense ... point to consider - Nuck4U
No.....the poster I was responding to....stated........Horvat had 4 goals in 8 games......and I just pointed out.............that..............that wasn't good enough. |

Sure they are not the only unimportant to the NHL agenda team but one of or the most non essential one overall.... heck no natural rivals .... but there is a common denominator that no one likes the Canucks .... even many of their own fans |

They hung in , and had some moments but no puck luck. I wonder how having Stetcher play on the big club will determine what players will be exposed come June when the Vegas team gets to pick a player. Biega, Sbisa need to play more NHL games from what I understand (not sure of number). It really doesn't matter though this team is years away from competing for Pacific titles and Vegas will eye Gaunce, Grunland or Hutton. |

This club is not important to the NHL or not a relevant market?
http://www.forbes.com/nhl-valuations/list/
The Canucks are the highest valued NON original 6 team in the NHL. Those numbers will indeed slip and the ranking will fall based on the play of the last 3 years but make no mistake, the Canucks are relevant. Being a west coast team, playing at 7PM PT automatically puts them at a disadvantage for media coverage but that goes for a plethora of other west coast teams. Rivalries are developed when two successful franchises face off in fun/competitive/entertaining hockey. The Canucks are currently not a competitive team, where will a rivalry develop? The Canucks have had many rivalries, I am not sure what you are talking about. Chicago and Vancouver had a long standing rivalry in the playoffs recently. Vancouver and Boston (whether or not you want to consider it) had major rivalry in the 2011 playoffs and the year after based off of injuries that occured during those playoffs or Salo getting hurt from Marchand the following year. I know we have a history of disagreeing so this might come across as harsh, so please dont take offense, but I could not dissagree more with your statements on all fronts. Also, please get a grip on the consipiracy theories of why the NHL hates the Canucks and why Bettman hates the Canucks and why the refs hate the Canucks.
Answer:
The NHL doesn't hate the canucks, they are vital to profits (see email link above)
Bettman doesn't hate the canucks, he hates everybody.
Refs hated the Canucks cause the team had Kesler (whiner+diver) and Burrows (whiner-diver-hair puller-biter, and bashed refs to the media). If those players ever had calls missed on them, the frankly deserve it.
. End rant. |

Raffi got no love here either by the Ref's certain players get a rep or attention.... refs not going to do this team any favors but is it rigged .... that's giving the refs too much credence to having the ability to do so |

Someone would probably make good money if they started a new sports channel that followed western teams. Canucks, Oilers, Flames, Ducks, Sharks, Kings, Coyotes. basically our division. Eventually get the bank to get the games as well next time rogers contract is up. Would be easy as well due to the fact that snet/tsn have a hate for the west and owners likely don't like the biased reporting that isn't even accurate for the most part. |

It would go bankrupt . Sportsnet paid 6 billion for NHL rights .
The only way it would have any chance of survival would be to run a 24 hour sports show with Pratt and Bro Jake |

I wouldn't even consider it a "hate" for the west. 7PM starts PT are not going to reach the East Coast. Eastern Fans and Media only see what is on any sports highlight package the following day. |

You misunderstood and have over reacted grabbing some words here and there and missing the point.
As a club and by location this club isn't important to other NHL markets it has no natural rivalries like Rangers v Islanders or battle of Alberta or CALI 3 or Leafs/Habs etc etc it doesn't matter the level of competition or where the team is at to have a natural rivalry.
It's not like hey the Nucks are in town we need to go and boo them as a rivalry. Even as a good team they get a moderate response.
I never said or advocated the NHL hates the Canucks just not favored and will not get any breaks.
Does this club pull in revenue.... absolutely. Will it continue to do so ...for the most part but that makes them acceptable not favored or sought after which is the nuance of the matter.
Talking in extremes is over the top and basically not one I believe in.

We were joking. Just talking about the pace. 4 goals in 8 games is on pace for 41 goals in 82 games. We know that won't happen, but still fun to talk about. i think he will definitelly get 20g 50pts this year though. prob a 4-5m contract for 8 years. I hope they don't bridge him and need to pay him big in 2 more years. |

If we lose it is because we suck. When the Leafs lose it is "all part of the plan". Didn't you get the memo? |
