Benning takes a lot of heat but most of his discards bomb on their new team. Hamhuis still sucks, Shink is brutal and McCann has done nothing. Nill is an idiot. Russel and now hamhuis

Shink and McCann are rookies and are on the same learning curve as Virt.
Hunter's doing well for his AHL team (4 points in 5 games). Showing promise.
McCann had 18 points for the Canucks last season. That's a decent rookie season. Off to a slow start this season but that's not unusual for a second year player. He should be playing meaningful minutes in the AHL. That FLA roster doesn't need him right now.

Hammy is an aging vet who has played his best hockey but I'll bet he'll be playing playoff minutes this year.

To me, the above players aren't bombs yet.

No. I'm not losing my touch. Three years ago it would have been a stinging insult but now there is soooooooo much optimism in leaf land that trolls like me has to find other bridges to lurk under.

And to be honest there is no other place to go.

Carol....I guess the team did technically hang in with the Caps last night, however, despite the relatively close shot-count, the Canucks were completely outclassed by a much better Capitals team in the first and second periods. Especially the second period.

Like always the better team relaxed in the 3rd and sat back a bit.

I thought Virtanen and Horvat were having poopty games, they didn't look good, then all of a sudden they seemed like they found something and started to create.

I agree, the second was a bit of a disaster with almost no puck possession for the Canucks. That's why it seemed so amazing to me that they could have tied the game in the third if that Brandon Sutter shot had gone in.

Baertschi got robbed, Virtanen had a chance in the slot and missed the net completely. At the end of the 2nd, I couldn't believe that the canucks still had a chance in the game considering how bad they were playing.
