Sure .... just sayitng we could have that team without the bona fide superstar ... cause I don't see this team getting one ... it's a rarity no matter how high they draft and in the looot system that just is a crap shoot. Would be nice not likely so only one way to build this team.... positional need and chemistry with strong two way players with a few role skills of talented players who aren't necessarily the best talent in the league but get results through team performance

Well, this team has had superstars for the past however many years they've been successful. From Bure, AlMo, Jovo, Naslund, Bert, Sedins.

Good luck with the thinking that if we get enough "just good" players we can gel as a team and win the the prize. Even the Devils had Brodeur, Niedermayer etc.

HOF would say only superstar we had was Bure the rest great players .... Sedins speciall category cause they are super together.... we are saying the same thing then... it's the recognition of if we need a super star is all. I think we need a few players to elevate like the Sedins did together and apply throughout the team with no deficiencies.... it's Cap probable as superstars want all the money leaving little for the great players and yes add in the young guns on ELC too to bring it all together.

We don't have the special exceptional super star players yes ... but talent to play a two way game so offense isn't a dirty word lol

No, but to play an offensive style, you need special players. We MAY have that in Boeser, JV, Horvat, Hutton and Stecher but they aren't right now. The point is that playing an offensive style with the players we have now is doomed to failure because they just don't have the skill or talent to do so without us losing blowout after blowout. Like golfing said, no one would female dog too much if the Canucks were losing 7-6 and looking entertaining doing so. It's losing 2-1 or 3-0 and looking completely inept offensively that turns people off the team.

It doesn't look like a lot of help is coming from Utica anytime soon. The only players scoring on that team are free agents from the summer. Van's prospects are starting off real slow.

True.... but Bo and JV still could be top line they are so young and developing... it's hard to know unless you have the instant superstar Mcdavid ... Mathews ... Crosby Ov type to know how they will slot in. Most players take time to determine. Some surprise and others disappoint. But what I see hear with JB and what's in the system is more players with the ability to play in the NHL which is a new trend.

As for the bold batch, minus Edler, if we can fill the holes in the next 3 years then they will all.be in prime time vet roles... if it takes longer then more trades seem likely.

As for goalies with Demko and Marlstrom have no worries there ... seems, covered with some back ups easy to fill the in betweens too.
