Troy Stecher, rookie, team high 5 SOG. Enough said.
- VanHockeyGuy

3 games, 0 points, minus 3, ZERO WINS, Played a solid game last night. Just not enough to help the team win.

Sooooo soft though.

We have one meathead who will drop the gloves who is otherwise invisible. That does not make for a tough team to play against.

The Marlies look awesome again this year though!

The point I was trying to make is an undrafted rookie getting 5 shots on net.

They were showing Gudbrandsons big hits on after hours . I wondered last night how did McDavid have so many breakaways last night without a huge hit from a Dman

He's played well. It's just hard to see what would be the best course of action for him right now. Should he stay if they continue to lose or go down to learn and excel in the AHL.

It grows very well in the Okanagan.
- VanHockeyGuy

Okanagan Shiraz has been getting better I will admit. I bought 6 of the Inniskillin Merlot Okanagan 2012 and I have to say it was a great find at $18/bottle. And I normally don't buy a lot of Okanagan reds.

With our D's inability to get pucks to the net it can't hurt keeping him up. He looks confident skates with speed and has a great shot from the point…right hand too. The kid looks like he really wants to be there unlike Jake and Gaunce right now.

According to nhl.com Edler, Larsen, Hutton are almost 2 shots per game average. Stecher has 7 shots in 3 games and had 5 last night.

4:33 of power play time last night for Stecher. He's playing well but he's not doing anything that any of the other D aren't doing either.

A: Keep him you get MORE shots through and speed.

B: Put in Tryamkin or Biega or Pedan and get more toughness.

C: trade away Tanev (when healthy) and Larsen. Stecher and Tree added you get more shots, speed and toughness.

An American free agent .... good luck with that

The only thing for him here is that it's as close to home as he will get in the NHL.

Markstrom made some great saves tonight, might of looked shaky on a few positional saves, but holy crap, the team hung him out to dry. The players looked terrible, I'm not putting this on the coach, I'm putting this on the players. Fire WD and the same crap will happen, because the talent level isn't there.

I think it's important everyone sticks together. They can use the fact that around 30 Toronto-loving, East Coast biased publications/experts inexplicably felt Vancouver are the worst team in the NHL.

90% of this board were up in arms and mocked such an opinion. It's important that the players and management take the same stance. Just like most of the posters here, the team needs to be oblivious to the lack of skill, speed and youthfulness that plagues the organization and turn it into an us against the world mentality.

One worrying trend that's occurring is the .333% winning record against the inferior Eastern Conference. I wonder if the Nucks are easing up against lesser opposition?

One other thing that's glaringly obvious is the Nucks need to get tougher. More punching people, clearing the net, big hits, that kind of thing. Maybe look to trade LE away for toughness? Gudas and a 3rd?

I do see a very, very bright future in Vancouver though.

Well, that was worse than last night. If we have a horrible road trip, I see WD getting fired. The natives are already restless and the "I-Told-You-So's" from the Eastern media is starting. The fact that the arena had a lot of empty seats on a Saturday HNIC game against a marquee team has got to have FA's blood pressure spiking.

Funny enough, the crowd was in good spirits last night. Lots of drunk people and girls in sexy costumes. Lots of first timers and people who don't get to go to games regularly.

The canucks are starting to do a better job distracting the paying customer from what's happening on the ice. Which is a good thing.

Saying that, only about 5 people in our section actually stood up when the canucks scored. Everyone else just clapped and resumed their conversation once the goal song ended.

But all in all a fun Saturday night hockey game at Rogers.

Hard to tell because so many people were transient. People coming late. People leaving early (probably because of Halloween). The canucks have been moving people from the upper level to the lower level to fill seats for TV. If I was to guess, around 80% full. Not bad considering...
