Those are your opinionated facts
- Streit2ThePoint

Your obviously don't know how facts work. A fact is created when the GM asks his assistant if they agree that something should be a fact. Once the assistant allows the GM to call it a fact, then the GM is allow to announce that it is indeed a fact. A GM doesn't want anyone who's just going to agree that everything is a fact, so the assistant GM is the one who makes the final call on whether or not something is a fact or just an opinion.

That's Phase II. Phase II also ends with five more Cups and this time a Grammy for excellence in hockey managery.

the way the NHL is handing Vegas a decent team without having to do what every other expansion franchise has done with starting from the ground up annoys the hell out of me.

In all honesty, that's not how an NHL front office works. A good executive doesn't want yes men, and those who won't express their opinion, due to not wanting to be disrespectful. If Hextall was that way, he wouldn't be the GM today. I think it's a false narrative to believe that Hextall wasn't in favor of the deal.
- MJL

I don't think it's a given he was in favor of the deal, either. Until Hextall says something on the matter, it's purely 110% conjecture that he was for or against that signing.

I was there and probably 3/4 of the arena had no idea a goal was scored. We all watched Schenn's big hit then the fight, then it was over and the refs were huddled up and we're all looking around like what's going on? A few people said Arizona scored and we were all really confused. I'm not sure how it wasn't blown dead but I guess he scored before the fight? I don't know, it was really strange. Rough game.

Also, what's up with Hak not pulling Mason until a minute left??? They were in Arizona's end with almost 2 minutes left, down by 2, and Mason is just standing in the net, not even halfway to the bench! We were screaming in the seats to pull him. Then we score with 14 seconds left but by then it's too late. What the (frank) was that all about!!!

- Tomfan365

The late goalie pull has been a problem for Hak. He needs to get Mason to the bench earlier in order to give the team a chance.

Agreed. However, and I could be wrong, but I think a lot has to do with the fact that they will be the first expansion team to come into existence in the salary cap era. I'm not saying I like it, but I think it plays a part.

Has anyone run the numbers on how the Flyers have done recently on nights with delayed starts due to ceremonies?

Obviously. Every other thing he ever shot at him has been square in the logo.

What about the game in LA where they delayed it for the opening night roster ceremony?

My observations from last night...feel free to disagree with it all.

- Macdonald - Gostisbehere pairing is bad right now. Also I think Gostisbehere needs to let the game come to him a little. He seems to be forcing a lot of plays.

- I know Simmonds scored but for most of the game I think he didn't do much. Seems to be in one of those streaks of average to below average play

- Thought Schenn had a good game. Liked Cousins back in the middle. He seems more engaged and effective.

- 1st PP is stale. I think a little change, even if for a game or two would be nice to give different looks.

- Again another soft goal. Seems both goalies aren't on top of there game right now. Mason has been better but still haven't seen a full 60 minute game from our goalies.

- MacDonald = Not so good.

Amac was god awful last night. I personally want to see Ghost with a steady defensive dman. Amac isn't it. I was encouraged after his strong pre-season but my god its been hard to take. I keep telling myself get to 40 games so they can protect Manning and expose Amac, not that he will be taken. More so just to they can protect Manning who has played well on a very modest contract.

Simmonds is either very good or very bad in my opinion. never seems to have a middle ground. He has 5 goals and 2 assists in 8 games and really hasn't gotten his game on track yet so in a way that is encouraging

Away games don't count.
They're fine when the other team has pomp and circumstance.

I'm fine with this stuff. It's still going to be very difficult to build a good team using the back half of team's rosters.

Also, it's not like agents keep quiet during the season. They speak with teams to get a a general idea of their player's worth.

So you are protecting Manning/Ghost and MDZ (if resigned) and AMac makes 40 games? What about Gudas?

Simmer and G really are a odd case. They are getting points but neither really seems to be on their game yet.

What's funny is I thought Gostisbehere played some good hockey with Manning last season. And now Provorov is playing well with him.

I think its overstated on how much influence an assistant GM has over the GM. I have no idea if Hexy was for or against the re-signing of AMAC and I'm sure the GM listens to advice from his personnel staff but at the end of the day the GM has the final say and will do what he thinks is best whether others agree or not

I really did not like the Top 6 last night. I think it needs to be restored to it's previous state, mixing it up was a knee jerk that didn't produce any results in the first place. The power play and shoot out won the game in Buffalo. AMAC sure as hell used up whatever leash he had left last night.
