It's early but we have to acknowledge just how excellent the goaltending was last year. Best even strength save pct in the league I believe. If we're getting ordinary tending this year it will be a short season

Awesome thanks. I'll let u know how I make out.

Not saying that at all but the truth is they snuck in last year with elite goaltending for the year. A significant slip in that deptartment could negate the roster upgrades for this year. We'll see

A grand total of 1 goal in the first period of eight games this year.
Constantly chasing games, with mediocre goaltending so far.
Not a good recipe for a playoff team. It's early but they really have to get their poop together. Last night was an embarrassment

Man that Richardson goal just sucked all around
- YuenglingJagr

Just getting to the highlights now. That goal did suck but also how does the previous one stand? If chychrun instigates the fight and a penalty is being called on him and ari has the puck then it's supposed to be blown down. Did they say he scored before the fight? What a bizarre game

My observations from last night...feel free to disagree with it all.

- Macdonald - Gostisbehere pairing is bad right now. Also I think Gostisbehere needs to let the game come to him a little. He seems to be forcing a lot of plays.

- I know Simmonds scored but for most of the game I think he didn't do much. Seems to be in one of those streaks of average to below average play

- Thought Schenn had a good game. Liked Cousins back in the middle. He seems more engaged and effective.

- 1st PP is stale. I think a little change, even if for a game or two would be nice to give different looks.

- Again another soft goal. Seems both goalies aren't on top of there game right now. Mason has been better but still haven't seen a full 60 minute game from our goalies.

- MacDonald = Not so good.

White scoring the game winner on the softest goal you will ever see is about as predictable as the day is long.

I don't think anyone, including the kids, were very good last night. However, for (frank)'s sake, MacDonald was (frank)ing awful last night. High-risk turnovers galore. Yes, he scored a goal, but his play overall for the game was atrocious. I'm sure Darth will be on later to defend him, but he was really, really, really bad last night.

Well, Schenn had a Gordie Howe Hat Trick. That's something, I guess.

Edit: I'm expecting his 16-game suspension will be announced later on today for his hit.

A giveaway by him led to the second goal, and only by the grace of God did mase cover up his epic giveaway before that. I'd sit him for Shultz.

You are misinformed again. Already on the record stating that MacDonald had an awful game last night, and that I would take him out for Schultz.

Just send MacDonald back to the Phantoms and be done with it.
Holmgren gave a 6 year 30 million dollar contract to a minor leaguer. Can't make it up. In the future a rule of thumb should be coaching/front office positions should not go to guys who have been punched in the head 1000 times.

So basically he was AMac last night. I don't care what anyone else says, AMac is a soft, overpaid 3rd pair Dman. The sooner he's out of the lineup, the better.

The way I look at it and you can take last night away because my feels haven't changed. I don't think Provorov can have a worse game than he did in Chicago but you don't take him out because if the kid is going to be here, he has gotta play through the mistakes. Same with Ghost in his second season. Now on the other hand with vets, you can't ignore who is playing the worst. Streit collects points. He puts us on the board. He is leading our team in scoring (2 goals, 4 assists), he was never coming out. Gudas could come out if he were actually playing bad. So it comes down to Schultz and Mac. With Schultz, the only time I notice him is when it looks like a solid scoring chance is going to happen for the team but I realize it's number 55 and the play is blown dead due to a weak attempt at offense. Mac has got to come out.

The entire team sucked last night.

No piddling shuffling around of Bottom 6 players could fix last night.

They flat out sucked.
