I would in a heart beat.
If they got Trouba I think you have your top pair for the next 7 years with Trouba and Provorov. - J35Bacher
I know you would haha, and he really would be a great help for us for many years. That pair would be magical

Sounds like screwed except that guy counts as the selection from your team.
Time to start looking for RFA's that aren't exempt from the draft?
OH (frank) sign Ghost now Hexy! - dragonoffrost

and what would you give up for Trouba and what kind of contract would you offer? gotta think both will be very costly - nastyflyergirl
I would do Sanheim and 2nd to start the conversation and then go from there.
I think if you got Trouba he would sign right around where Linholm did. I just think he wants out of Winnipeg. I think reports of him wanting 7 million or so is just because he is in Winnipeg. He gets to another team I think he'll sing around Linholm or Ristalinan |

Well that's really the issue. You have to give up hard assets plus figure out your cap. While not the same impact player or quite as young, you could just keep MDZ without giving up any assets. |

Hexy as assistant GM helped negotiate that deal in the first place. So, yes, he was absolutely on board with it. - bmeltzer

"Wow Homer, you were able to trade Andrew MacDonald for Drew Doughty and sign him for 6 years at $5M per. That's incredible."
"Umm....yeah, I sure did Ron. Because, I'd never sign MacDonald for that money....yeah, never....thanks."
OR
"Wow Homer, I can't believe you got MacDonald to agree to that 3-year, $2.5M deal we drafted. Very nice."
"Yeah, Ron, about that...we had to tweak that a bit..." |

In my opinion, Giroux has been making some nice plays, distributing the puck, and racking up assists, but he is still playing a lot on the perimeter at ES, and he isn't getting many quality scoring chances himself, which is why he hasn't scored a goal to this point. The entire team has been poor overall at ES, with a few exceptions. - MJL

Good. So if they turn it around and make the playoffs, you'll just ignore them and refrain from posting on here? |

I just don't get people who claim to be fans but then do nothing but poop talk them without ever giving any positive input. Why even be a fan if all you're going to do is be miserable about them?
Edit: Not saying everything has to be rainbows and puppies every day, but some people who claim to be "fans" are always finding fault with them no matter what. |

This is where I am:
Pros:
Love watching the 19 year olds.
Seeing how Couturier develops and if the offense comes
Watching Manning play
Seeing if guys like MacDonald or Streit can get any value for a possible trade at the TDL
The goalie battle
Cons:
Bad first periods
mediocre goaltending
Below average defensive plays from the vets
But still I watch every game because I am a Flyers fan

I don't have a huge issue with fans who hate losing. I don't quite get it, but it's not necessarily a wrong mindset. Now, the people who wait to see players fail so they can enthusiastically and cynically hand out Told-You-So's, that I don't get. |

Agreed, there's a bigger picture at play. I truly hope people in the organization don't sit around and consider questions like "are you happy with the product on the ice the last five years?" because:
A) The answer to that should be an obvious "not especially, no," and
2) That's an overly simplistic, and (once again) cynical outlook. |
