Obviously you missed my very smart point, so allow me to clarify: I'm just being a smartass, don't mind me.
Being sincere, I agree with you 100%. It's not really a new thing for Giroux, going cold in the goal column. He looks like he's pressing to get one in himself, he'll find his groove. I won't be too concerned as long as he keeps doing things to help them win. - BulliesPhan87

Can't wait for Raffl and Laughton to get back.

Not a bad group. - mickel25
I would prefer Schenn as 3rd line C.

In my opinion, Giroux has been making some nice plays, distributing the puck, and racking up assists, but he is still playing a lot on the perimeter at ES, and he isn't getting many quality scoring chances himself, which is why he hasn't scored a goal to this point. The entire team has been poor overall at ES, with a few exceptions. |

Question about Las Vegas' 48 hour window:
If they sign a tendered RFA to an offer sheet, does the standard 7 day window to match still exist? Is it an offer sheet or is the team just screwed? |

Well, as a fellow fan of the Philadelphia Flyers who likes seeing them succeed and takes no pleasure in their shortcomings, I am glad to help you out. |

Not sure I am liking the d pairings I see:
Gudas - Manning
Streit - Provorov
Gostibehere - Schultz
Don't mind Gudas and Manning but not a fan of taking away the only solid pairing since they were put together in Manning-Provorov |

Yep.
I wonder how long it goes before they just decide to waive MacDonald and bring Morin up.
The sad part is it's the vets that keep looking bad. |

They won't bring Morin up while they have 6+ healthy vets on the team. They'd waive/sit AMac and Schultz and then have an Alt/Brennan type as the 7th defenseman. |

While early it's frustrating watching vets look the way they do.

I agree....but I don't think throwing another rookie into the fire is smart, either.
Like it or not, while the vets haven't looked great, they are more likely to turn their games around to an acceptable level than a guy with 0 NHL games will be if he's thrown into this situation. Now, if we're 35-40 games in and things aren't getting better, the story changes. |

I'd inquire. Makes the MDZ situation much clearer, if nothing else. |

I think that's why I posted my stuff earlier that was missing MDZ in back and Read up front. This team is just maddening right now. We know what they can be and with Read breaking out again it should be much better. Instead we play Russian Roulette with 3 veteran d men as to who's going to be the dumpster fire that evening. |

If they got Trouba I think you have your top pair for the next 7 years with Trouba and Provorov. |

Sounds like screwed except that guy counts as the selection from your team.
Time to start looking for RFA's that aren't exempt from the draft?

I don't think I've ever been so frustrated over a game 8 games into the season. It was just so damn maddening to watch last night. It should be much better with Jake returning to form, Matt Read breakout again is just an added pleasant surprise. Really thought he was cooked after how much his play dropped past two seasons. |

In all honesty, that's not how an NHL front office works. A good executive doesn't want yes men, and those who won't express their opinion, due to not wanting to be disrespectful. If Hextall was that way, he wouldn't be the GM today. I think it's a false narrative to believe that Hextall wasn't in favor of the deal. - MJL
Hexy as assistant GM helped negotiate that deal in the first place. So, yes, he was absolutely on board with it. |
