You still wouldn't have a #1 center.

When the traded Richards and Carter, the gave Giroux ready to step in and got Simmonds and Voracek to replace Carter, who had moved (somewhat unsuccessfully) to wing. If you get Gaudreau, you vastly improve your wing spot, but now you don't have a #1C.

- jmatchett383

Correct.

So maybe you try to get Bennett and 1st rounder.

I don't know. And I am not saying lets move Giroux. All I am saying is it depends on return.

That's what you said when I propose trading Andrew MacDonald for Drew Doughty at 50% retained.

Yes, I remember Bradlees

I worked there for a year until they liquidated, and then worked for the liquidator until the day I closed. Fifteen minutes before they closed up, I told me boss that I quit, because 17-year-old me was edgy.

I'm happy they've restored the top 6 but I'm not thrilled PEB is back on the 3rd line at the expense of Cousins. However, Lyubimov got a much deserved promotion.

#Flyers lines. Couldn’t rank them though:
10-28-17
11-14-93
24-78-13
21-25-12
76-27-22

- Baxter27

I think the bold part is really key. Those are just lines and everything below the top two could be 3 or 4 or the Cote Suite.

No no no...

It was Mason for Clifford, King, or Pearson and picks.

Absolutely. But, again, the likelihood of getting the return you want is extremely slim.

CGY would not give you Bennet and a 1st for Giroux.

Bennet is not a first line center nor is he ready for that role.

I get what you're saying though I just don't see it happening anytime soon

Correct.

That's why I think the best trade chip the Flyers have is Simmonds. But the season is early. Still time for things to change.

I would trade Giroux straight-up for Crosby (e5).

Mason's value is at an all-time high, even though his value was higher several years ago.

- Streit2ThePoint

Counting the playoffs, Giroux hasn't scored in 20 games.
I wonder how many other elite players are currently sitting with 20 straight without a goal.

I'm guessing the sandwich offsets Sprong???

Probably the same amount of elite players that are leading the league in assists.

Plus Filip Forsberg, Henrik Zetterberg, and Loui Eriksson.

Those trades certainly were a success but we had Giroux waiting in the wings at the time. He was ready for an elevated role. Not the case right now.
- Mordecai

absolutely and I am not in the trade Giroux camp. At 28 he still has good years ahead. all I am saying is If a team who as close to winning needed a 1C and threw a great package at me I would have to listen. Point being never say never.

Thornton is an elite center with .98 pts/game

Giroux is an elite center with .90 pts/game
