Gudas looked outstanding that period driving play. Every zone exit was clean and controlled, limited pressure in his zone, aggressive but smart about it.

I don't think he more than nudged an opposition player either. Goes to show.

Ghost was in fact the worst half of the pair in that period.

Streit does need to improve his play.

Buffalo is playing the Couturier line well, most notably Voracek. Clearly Couturier's line has been the best line so far this season.

Care to guess which line did the worst in shots for/against that period?

Definitely the 3rd line. They were on defense all period

Man. Has Milbury been sick or lost weight? Holy cow -- he definitely looks a little worn down

Seriously. Ghost was not great that period, but if he isn't doing well, there's a 0% chance his partner will help. Gudas will help. Ghost would have the puck in the o zone nonstop. It just makes so much (frank)ing sense.

Every (frank)ing game they are the worst possession line. But I keep hearing PEB is a 3C in the NHL and an excellent 2-way player. He hasn't even proved he is a good 4C in 2 seasons.

They are gonna ride that for a while. You can tell. They want it to work, and I just don't understand why

Third line has looked like a fifth or sixth line since Weise was suspended. Even with Weise, a third line centered by Cousins and Bellemare isn't the best idea. Putting them together even worse. It was amazing Read produced at all.

I think Bellemare is a better center than Cousins, which isn't saying much because the drop off after Couturier is a black hole.

Same reason they believe VDV is a regular NHLer. Or a top PKer. Love is blind, my friend.

The only hope is Hextall forces the issue, if he even disagrees which is up for debate. It's dragging down the bottom 6. And after all the hand wringing about fixing it, and with the pieces to do so, they choose not to. When Raffl and Weise come back, we will see what happens. Most likely? Lyubimov and Cousins go out, despite obvious superiority. It's just pathetic. By the eye test. By the stat test. By the 6th grade spelling test.

I don't think Cousins has played enough for me to come to that opinion, but I feel pretty comfortable saying that Bellemare is in no way a 3C in today's NHL. But as I said, they look like they really want that to work, so I am just gonna hope it does work

I think Cousins showed in 30 games last year he can do it or deserves the shot at least.

Fair but this is technically Cousins' third season. I was wrong about Manning, I could be wrong about Cousins but from what I've seen, I'm not comfortable with more Cousins than I've already seen.

I think it will be brutal if Cousins gets removed from the lineup because he isn't playing as well as he could at 3LW when he hasn't played wing in his life. I don't dislike Bellemare in general, but Cousins is clearly a center, to me
