I disagree. Price is still the best goaltender in the world, but you throw him in net with our lot and he's not coming out much better. Maybe we'd be .500.

The habs team when without Price was worse than the leafs last year.

Lol. Good goalies manage to steal games or keep teams in games they don't deserve to be in. Price would be a dramatic upgrade and it'd be very noticeable.

It's been so long since Toronto had a good goalie that I think some of us have forgotten what good goaltending can do for a team. Those shots that "nobody could save" get saved by top goalies. Not every time but far more consistently than average or below average goalies.

Oh, you're being sarcastic. OK. I was confused.

I don't think he is. I was joking when I said FIRE BABCOCK earlier today but I do think he should have called a timeout, and I do think he could have gone with Nylander in the shootout.

He's also relying on Bozak and Kadri way too much defensively

Sorry. But no. Price makes an average D unit look good. That's what elite goalies do. They can still win despite not having great defense. I'm not expecting Andersen to be Price but it'd be great if he could make our way below average D look average. He can't steal every game but stealing one would be a good start.

Great goalies can make average D look good. Great goalies cannot make HORRIBLE D look good.

There is a huge difference.

Toronto D has sucked for a long time. Not saying Reimer, Bernier or even Andersen are great goalies.....don't know yet for Andersen.

But we have been through A LOT of goalies from Raycroft, Toskala, The Monster.......

The only thing every team had in common was really bad D. Kinda has to make you wonder?!

Any D with Hunwick, Marincin, Polak...who has been better than the first two, is LEGITMATELY BAD D.

Edit: Also, this is why I am for trading some assets to get a partner for Reilly. If we at least had a legit top pairing, you would see more wins after scoring 4 goals a game.

Andersen made some saves nobody could make, mostly because he was on his ass swaying from side to side like a drunk rookie Gustavsson.
