I think Benning is realistic about where the team is. We have a lot of young players and 3xA prospects.
I don't see a need to stockpile draft picks . Keep the ones we have and now concentrate on winning - VANTEL

Relevant since I'm talking about the next expansion draft after the Las Vegas one - Mungo
Still irrelevant, AHL counts as pro hockey so if they use the same rules as this expansion draft AHL or NHL is the same amount of pro experience |

I think you could trade Miller and still be competitive. JB just needs to get creative. - VanHockeyGuy
I say let LA miss the playoffs. One less team to worry about |

Yup, Miller isn't going anywhere. 100%. Unless, we are out of a playoff spot by the deadline. |

Lots of teams need a goalie. LA Toronto Calgary Oilers Dallas Flyers Coyotes
Pavelic is not the answer |

Ok i'll admit I like Burrows but my post yesterday was so called experts harping on everything...every (frank)ing thing as if they are experts.
Honestly I'm not sure why Burrows got the "A" other than that useless coach wanted to screw with HB posters

The hamhuis / Vrbata style of asset management? - Bullfrog77
One could argue that trading for Russell instead of hamhuis was terrible asset management ...yet nil is considered a good GM ... |

Demko Juolevi and Demko are high end prospects. Just draft a forward next season . We are not sliding we are just fine - VANTEL
No guarantee any of them will ever pan out....I'd rather not stake the franchises future on three kids....need more talent |

Yup... question is how much are they willing to pay for it to save their season .... Canucks aren't throwing their's away.... would take a blow your socks off offer to part with Miller at this point.... they didn't send Hammer to big D for nothing either so there you go |

But you want to trade a proven talent Miller for an unproven kid draft pick |

This is why you can trade Miller, providing the return is there.

Exactly.
Miller isn't going to be the difference between a playoff spot and a lottery pick.
I think if the opportunity arises, as it has in LA, you get something for him. Otherwise he's at best a co-pilot to Markstrom down the stretch.
He has served his purpose here. I hated his deal when he signed, but have to admit he has provided a solid bridge between Lack and Markstrom. Now, get an asset or two, and find a cheap, serviceable back up, and let Markstrom run with it.

I have to admit it would be great to have two first rounder's next year. Don't worry, you'll warm up to it as well...

Who's doing that...? Why they brought guys like Sutter and Guddy in for support as young experienced guys.... not to mention LE too who's got a few good years left.
plus they are still drafting no matter where they finish JB can find a Demko or Boeser to add to the future talent pool... so this is happening .... the savior lotto 1/2OA well that is a crap shoot that can't be planned for.... if they stumble and fall because of injuries etc being massive okay fine ... but are you all going to the rink to throw banana peals on the ice for a tank...? |
