There was a lot of everything last night. Just one of those games where everything breaks down. I don't expect Provorov to have many of those kind of games. He got his welcome to the NHL last night. In the long run, games like that will help him. The coaches will help him correct those issues. He's 19 and a rookie, so he has an excuse. Other players not so much. - MJL
Provorov handled the jump from juniors to camp to pre-season games extremely well. the jump to the regular season and playoffs (hopefully) is even greater. hopefully last night was a learning experience he learns from, adjusts from and is a rare occurance |

Probably will only miss a game or two is my guess. |

On the bright side, they had a similar "soiled the bed" game against Florida at the beginning of last season, but they got closer on the scoreboard this time. #progress |

I know its really so very early yet.. small sample size etc... But it sure seems like scoring is up across the league so far. There have been a lot of high scoring games.
I wonder if there are any numbers out there, comparing scoring in this season so far with years past. - Doc_Sarcasm
Last night had the first two shutouts of the season also. It definitely seems that they jumped the gun on the need for goalie equipment changes. |

Soiled the bed against probably the highest scoring line in the NHL last year is different than doing so against Florida. Hope they burn the tape of last night and just move on. |

I think with our leadership between Streit, Giroux, Simmonds, and even Schultz with his 1,000 + games played, that Provorov is surrounded by a solid group to fall back onto and make this a learning experience for the better and not to stress about it moving forward |

All the leadership in the world doesn't mean a thing if Provorov doesn't take the steps, himself, to figure out what went wrong last night.
And in reality, I think Mark Streit and Nick Schultz might want to focus on their own games a little bit at this (very, very) late stage of their respective careers. |

I swore my eyes were tricking me during training camp with Read. I guess they weren't. He's playing very well. |

Flyers played a lousy game last night. I think the coaches will correct a lot of what went wrong last night. Most concerning to me, is the team is coming out sluggish in first periods. Seems to be an issue, again. They need to correct that. - MJL
Id have every player choose from the following list before every game.
Amphetamine
Crack
8 Ball
PCP
92 Red Bulls
To be consumed or used in their entirety before each game. That might help with their slow starts. |
