I don't think he'll still be here by then, his role will likely be filled by Morin - BiggE
I agree to some level. I think Gudas will ware on fans. He's a good player but he's still reckless at times. Example, I did like Luke Schenn and I understand why others do not. Bad skater. Doesn't always read the play well. He's never really a step ahead of who he fends off. With this said, Schenn in my mind is Gudas' equal to playing a physical game and manages to stay disapline. I respect this regardless of shotcoming because it is useful.

Back to back to start the season away Remember Devils 2 seasons ago didn't get a single back to back game all season - Landsbergfan
Being a big market NHL team has it's disadvantages. NHL scheduling for Saturday games and Nationally broadcast games and more media presence. Small market teams make out like bandits in this league.

Absolutely, what Gudas brings to the table can be an asset, but, at some point, he's got to learn to play under control. Fair or not, he has a reputation and will always be under scrutiny.
I'm just hoping that Morin, with his combo of size and skating ability, can develop into a much better player than Gudas or Luke Schenn.

Personally I don't see Gudas and Morin as being the same type of player. Morin is more sound in his own zone than Gudas. Gudas is more aggressive offensively and in open ice hitting. Morin isn't an open ice hitter. Not to mention they're different handed which is the most important part -- they don't play the same position. If Morin ends up at what he does as good as Gudas at what he does, then why get rid of one or the other? If Sanheim ends up as good offensively as Ghost should we trade Ghost? If we have 2 good things, I vote to keep both good things.
Luke Schenn is also not even in the same ballpark as Gudas as players. Gudas is a legit top 4 d man...Schenn is on the scrap heap of career mediocrity.

I hear ya, and agree 100% re Schenn. Yes, Morin and Gudas differ in many ways, but both bring a physical element that no other Flyer Dman or top prospect brings to the table. And sure, you want to keep as many talented players as you can, but you are only going to be dressing 6 Dmen and if the top prospects pan out over the next couple years, someone, be it a younger guy or a younger vet like MDZ or Gudas will have to go.

If Radko Gudas is a more aggressive offensive player, my question to you is, is Radko Gudas a productive offensively? To you, for the sake of argument, which is the better player offensively between Luke Schenn and Radko Gudas?

A lot is dependent on what prospects hit. It's probably unlikely all do. Even so, we only have one top RHD prospect in Phil Myers. Sanheim is better on the left, but is learning the right. Maybe Ghost is too, but he can play the right. Gudas's job seems safe to me for these 4 years. Being a righty really makes the difference.

I actually think Ghost is better on his off side, but I hear what you're saying.
