This whole thing going just makes me so happy because for once they cut a turd they used to keep and are going with youth - Upstate_isles
I'm shocked as frank. I doubt this happens with Wang still owning the team. |

I just like that PA will not be on the 1st line. I can understand the team wanting Barzal to play C. Maybe Strome gets another shot at RW. Maybe the Isles try internal options first and then go to the trade route quickly. You really get the sense with cutting PA that Garth is not playing and moves will be made. - ses111
Just makes you wonder why this clown was even brought here in the first place. It was like a panic move. But, why waste time on a has been who never was. Garth might have something in the works.....they certainly have the talent to get a deal done. |

In all fairness, Yak could very well end up being a "bust" and heading back to the KHL by next year. - kindlyrick
Yep and it's worth a 3rd to find out imo. It's water under the bridge now

Yeah i just clicked on your link, which surprisingly enough worked at my job. Usually everything gets blocked.
I guess PA (who looked like sh!t last night), wasnt doing it for them. I think Barzal should be with that line......speed and skill, with JT and Ladd. - kindlyrick
Wow. Yes!!!!
Who knows could mean a trade or rolling the dice with the kids? |

I think a trade might be coming. Seems more plausible that having Barzal, Beau and Ho Sang. |

Kulemin could have been an option. I'm just floored the Isles made a professional move in cutting PA who they just signed. I still like Chimera with Cal and Casey as a true checking line. - ses111
I wasn't crazy about bringing PA back in the first place, but cutting him at this point kind of seems like throwing out your snowblower that only starts half the time the night before the big storm before you've actually bought a new one to replace it.
He was brought in because the team made no other moves to get a viable, proven RW option for JT. Not much has changed since then. I think some young guys definitely showed they deserve a look getting some protected minutes to see how they do. But counting on them to go against the league's best defenders on the only line the opposition is going to focus on and care about is asking a lot, and it's not like any of the other existing roster players with "something to prove" showed they're ready to step up and be the man in this preseason. If anything we've probably grumbled about them the most.
This makes more sense to me is if they are, in fact, about to pull the trigger on a trade. I guess we'll see. |

Maybe he was signed before Ledecky made it known he expects the team to go a lot further this year? I really believe Ledecky is not playing and will clean house if needed. I really doubt he wants to be known as Wang's flunky by keeping Garth and Cappy around if the team does not go far. |

And creativity, JT and Ladd are finishers so it makes sense. Let the kid play! Give him 9 games to sink or swim.
Kid played wing on Canada's WJ team so.... - nyisles7
Last night was the first time I've seen him play live but I was very impressed he had skill speed and is elusive. He tried to do to much a few times but the creativity is something the roster lacks and needs and he and how sang can provide it |

I think a trade is coming. I don't believe getting rid of PA makes no sense, as he's never been a first line guy, and he looked like sh!t last night. I dont care about Barzals age.....he's a better option than PA |

I was only ok with PA as a depth guy and no way for the 1st line. I'm hoping a trade happens. I like the idea of keeping Barzal, but I'd like someone proven for the 1st line. Isles have the pieces to make a deal.

He was brought in because he was cheap and Snow didn't have to reach down and grab his stones and trade a prospects / picks/ player for a legit 1st line winger.
I doubt anyone claims him, guys old and slow.

I'm extremely wary of thrusting these kids into a full time role and I would hope Snow is. I'm thinking there's a trade. Could be wrong but a guy can hope. |

Well, under this ownership, Snows gonna have to finally put his balls on the line. You cant just keep drafting. |

JT probably told Snow after the game he shouldn't even bother trying to sign him if he expected him to play with that retread all season |

I doubt they spent a half a bill to be happy with just winning one round. I really believe this is Garth and Cappy's last shot. There is no excuses they can make if they cannot get the job done. |
