On the other hand the NYR went and traded for a top winger in Nash and their is ĉonstant criticism.
I watched the SNY Isles Preview show and Ladd said he came in o develop chemistry with JT and PA said he could play on any line.
Hopefully the team will play enough of a disciplined game to let the offensive talent and line chemistry develop which is more like an NHL team vs college hockey. - Fan101
Well then I guess its really about who you trade for........im not saying go out and get a name for names sake. Im saying PA is not the answer for a top line on a cup team. |

Truth be told, i've been saying for weeks that this was gonna be the roster. The minute it was announced that PA was signed......I knew what that meant. Rather than harp on whats already obvious, i am a little confused about the Pulock situation. I mean, at this point how is he not a shoe in??? All this talk about him not being included in any sort of trade, yet he's not even cracking the top 6. Granted all this could change, but its looking more and more like he and Pelech start in bport. Thats astounding. |

Yes I agree we were definitely in agreement that the PAP signing was the last piece to the puzzle and he would be on JTs line.
I can't believe Pulock won't be in the opening lineup especially when Crappy and co are preaching a quick transition game out of the defensive zone. I thought Pulock did that well and like his first pass ability. I can't see Sidenburg being the answer over Pulock but again we are talking about Crappy here.

Any players being waived are going to have to be put on waivers today in order to clear for tomorrow's 5pm 23-man final roster deadline.
We're at 28 players right now.
26 with Prince/Grabo on IR.
Figured the bubble guys are: Pulock, Pelech, Barzal, Beauvillier, Quine, Berube, and Boulton.
We can keep three. Figure Boulton will almost certainly be waived. That leaves two of those other 6 that are getting sent back to either BPT or their junior teams. Quine/Berube are on one-ways and would need to clear waivers. So essentially, since we all know Pulock is probably sticking (unfortunately, probably as the 7th defenseman) that means if Barzal/Tito stick, we're risking losing Quine/Berube for nothing. Doesn't mean it's guaranteed, but it's entirely possible. |

And right on cue:
Arthur Staple @StapeNewsday 1m1 minute ago
Should know today what the #Isles plan is for the season-opening roster. If no one's on waivers, likely means Pelech/Pulock starting in BPT.
Arthur Staple @StapeNewsday 51s52 seconds ago
Also try to remember: The 23-man roster that's set tomorrow means almost nothing. Could call someone up the next day if needed.
Arthur Staple @StapeNewsday 28s29 seconds ago
And #Isles would likely play 3 games at most with only 6D. So Pulock's assignment would be temporary. |

Snow will ALWAYS take advantage of the 2way contract regardless if the player deserves to stay with big club.....

He's far from the only general manager to do that. I don't like the way this roster may ultimately shake out, but that is something not unique to Garth Snow in any way, shape, or form.

Well, it's not all doom-and-gloom

Other #Isles option with no one on waivers today would be sending Beauvillier and Barzal back to juniors. Seems unlikely at this point. |

With the D mostly formed with vets, thats when a kid like Pulock should be getting experience. Thats a recipe for grooming a player into NHL but seems like this team does things ass-backwards |

Right, like I said...I don't agree with it, but Pulock would be far from the first young kid to get moved to the back of the line simply because of his contract status. |

Quine, Boulton and Berube should be absolutely waived. To me, Prince and Quine are pretty much the same guy. I'd like to see Pulock playing......he's got value. Capuano can save the first pass speech for Staple.

So much for the best players will play speech. Im sorry but the isles PP has not worked and yet they refuse to add a Shea Weber type shot from the backline.......this isnt rocket science. |

In all fairness, Yak could very well end up being a "bust" and heading back to the KHL by next year. - kindlyrick
Yes true but bring him to brooklyn with a big russian community and a coach with no system, maybe might flourish.....??? |

My opinion, and clearly my own opinion, is that this regime is at the end of its rope. I've watched a few teams this pre season, and while its only pre season, the isles dont feel right to me. Are we going to all of a sudden expect the PP which hasnt been great to start clicking with the same guys running it? Its the same story every year. I think if the isles start the season off poorly, you'll see first the coach gone, and then the GM. Im hoping for that more than a RW for JT. |
