Obviously, McDavid is a scrub, Lucic had to carry him around the ice all night.
Honestly, I had forgotten how glad I was we didn't sign that idiot until we were treated to his intermission interview. I'm sure he isn't in mid-season form but he looked like garbage out there last night. - belcherbd
McDavid has not scored this year . Stecher has.
Yeah I think Lucic is going to be a seven year mistake
Honestly I think it would be underestimating Hutton to say he will be another Edler. I see him being more dependable and dynamic. With Juolevi coming in, Hutton will probably be 2nd pairing for most of his career but i honestly think he has top pairing potential.
Oh and also, it's been one game. I don't know if you should hand Stetcher 60 points a year and top 2 potential when he hasn't played against NHLers yet... - NorthNuck
I am not handing him anything, but he has that possibility as a ppqb. I never said top 2 either, but yes top 4. He just looks like he has the passing ability and a solid wrist shot to do it.
People have crazy Stetcher-boners right now... Remember guys he hasn't played a single professional game yet. Yes he has potential, yes he has skills, and he has an outside chance at cracking the roster this year, though he likely won't due to waiver issues with the other dmen. But come on, pegging him as a future top dman already is a bit much. Plus the best thing for his development right now is to spend at least 1 year in Utica

The reason people are excited is because our D has been Sh1t for years. Remember when Pedan came in last year and had 8 hits in one game.p
We are excited because we may not have to watch Sbisa and Weber this year.
It is nice to see some things going right for once.
The new recruits look like Jim Benning / Vantellouise style of hockey. We have waited a long time to see some positives.

Oh i know, I'm not trying to dampen spirits, just temper expectations. I'm as excited as anyone that we finally have some D depth, it can just be tiring watching the emotional rollercoaster when it spikes over something this small. That said, it will definitely be much better hockey to watch this year due in large part to our vastly improved D, and that is a fantastic thing.

bartkowski... glad to see some guys with potential on D who aren't retreads and p/ups that we hope can find their game... that's another reason people are excited to see a dynamic young dman who can skate, make plays, jump up into the rush, hit the net, pass, ...

Yes
shades of Corrado.
I am stoked that there is some competition for bottom D pairings.
come regular season, we are going to see bonafide Nhl'ers filling those spots tho.
if we bring 1 D and 1 F into the mix each year, and move on the same, i am happy.
Hamhuis/Higgens - gone
one of Pedan/Larsen/Tryamkin/Stetcher will make the top 6.
one of Rodin/Gaunce should make it as well.
Next year, we lose Burrows/Miller (and hopefully move Sbisa).
