Add another one to the list. WOW - stowerkraut
To what list?
Also, if you think that I have anything against Crosby, don't know that I am a Penguins fan (second, after Flyers), and am being 100% facetious with that last post, you must have a very short memory.
Edit: Some Penguins fan believe that people either 100% love every single thing about Sidney Crosby, or 100% hate everything about Sidney Crosby. God forbid you say anything slightly negative about him, even jokingly, and you're some hater who's just jealous that your team doesn't have Crosby. It's annoying as poop. |

Well, that's fair. I find you more than mildly sexy for caring enough to point out that me caring enough is silly. - jmatchett383

The only knock I've ever had on Crosby was his composure or lack there of. He seems to of really turned the page on that though. So I'd say I loved Crosby 95%... But it's pretty much 100% now... So dont you dare saying anything bad about him or about anyone saying anything good about him.

Ryan, are you sure that's specific enough? Maybe add a few more things like "named Sidney Crosby" or "born on 08/07/1987" to make sure he's the only one to ever do it.
In all seriousness, the guy's won almost everything you can win, but this is akin to those baseball stats, i.e. "He's 3rd in the division in batting average in night games against right-handed pitchers from other divisions after 8 PM when he bats 3rd or lower in the batting order Mondays through Wednesdays." - jmatchett383
Ryan Wilson is going to write what ryan wilson is going to write.
Do you ever get your panties in a bunch when Meltzer pumps out a blog after the pens stanley cup win this summer bashing pittsburgh and proclaiming how philadelphia is still the better franchise today?
Or maybe when Garth pumps a blog saying how Eichel learned how to go fishing and make a catch?
Or maybe when Jackael proclaims Seabrook is one of the best defensemen in the game or Toews is the best player in the NHL?

Well, first off, I refuse to click on Garth's blogs. I will not give him hits on his click bait, and can only hope that others follow suit to the point that Ek fires him. I actually got banned over his blogs twice.
Same goes for JJ, especially how, after that, he claims that he's very critical of the Hawks players. I have had heated discussions with him.
At least these two will engage in discussions to defend and refute their points.
I don't think Meltzer said they were a better franchise than the Penguins today. Historically, both over the course of the franchise and the past 20-25 years, they have been more consistent. But if he said that the Flyers are a better team than the Penguins today, I'd definitely have to disagree with him. As for his stealth bash (i.e. "how some teams tank to build a winner"), I was not a fan of it, but the Penguins fans were there to get their panties in a bunch before I got there.
Of course Aaron Rodgers would say relax, he plays a sport that's a bunch of fat guys falling on each other, and if anyone nudges him above the chest they get a 15-yard penalty. It's the most relaxed position is NA pro sports outside of baseball.
But thank you for caring that I care. It's very endearing. |

Love him or hate him he's had a pretty good year. I hope he plays that well for the Penguins all year and has a season to remember. And Crosby has been with the same girl for 10 years now and she's pretty smokin too. The mustache is just to keep Giroux from hitting on him. Speaking of Giroux didn't he play in an exhibition game there? What happened to him. |

I don't know how he make that claim about the Flyers, they have been nobodies for 40 years now. If the modern NHL is about 25 years old and the Penguins have been in 5 cup finals since then that means Pittsburgh has been in the finals for 20% of the last 25 years. I think only Detroit can also make that claim. |

I think the real "best player in the world" was a healthy scratch. Amazing they were so stacked they decided to bench the best player on the team...WOW!
J/K Seriously though, I think what gets forgotten in the original post topic is that Sid was also the best player on these teams many times and many times winning the MVP in addition to the championship itself. He just didn't get his name on all those awards as a passenger like Giroux will on this World Cup and some of the others who were used to throw comparable lists together had.
I agree with the idea that the lists of accomplishments can be spun and put together many ways and the use of the term "milestone" was a bad choice, but the overall collection is impressive in and of itself and picking at it trying to find reason to be unimpressed just shows that no matter what Crosby does in his career and how he goes about doing it, there will always be the "So, I still don't like him" guys like Morganti and posters here who are haters for hate sake and nothing more. Am I wrong? No, I didn't think so. |

If this was directed at me, I freely admitted twice that, even as superstars go, this list of accomplishments is impressive. Very few players in the history of the game can boast the kind of accolades he has. I just don't think that lumping a bunch of random awards/titles together is anything special in and of itself. Are they wonderful accomplishments? Absolutely. Are they made more so by the fact that there are a lot of them? Again, absolutely. I just don't get how it's a milestone to be the only one. Something to be proud of though, yes. |

No, it wasn't. Just an in general thing.
