That's an interesting point KR. When you consider that just a few short years ago, the cap was not an issue except for other teams. Now it's an everyday topic. Especially the convos about trades and ufa's. Not to mention new arena, radio, etc. Not only has this organization turned a corner, it's moved to a better neighborhood (no pun intended). - Isleshockeyman
Isn't it funny what a real owner does? Now if only they had a real GM and coach... |

I hate to admit it......but he does a good job on Hahn and Humpty. He's an arrogant SOB even on the air, but he's knowledgable about sports. |

I think he would better serve as a color guy, replacing Goring. |

Right? It's funny what spending money on your franchise does. |

Look to me anyone is better than Howie......his voice annoyed me. But, you're right, he would be a color guy. Im def in the minority but i love Butchie. Prob cause i remember how great of a hockey player he was. |

Oh come on. Butchie is funny as hell. Where else are you going to get a color guy that's slurring his words halfway into the first intermission? |

The isles have been adding pieces for years......they are pretty deep....at every position. - kindlyrick
If barzal makes the team that could make Nelson or strome expendable. Dehaan could be a trade chip as well. Add a 1st and that's a decent package...but if strome sucks this year we would regret trading Nelson. |

Any bar in the impoverished neighborhoods of Brooklyn.
Oh... COLOR guy. My mistake. |

Oh believe me, I am on record on this site being a Butch supporter. Guy brings entertainment, especially after our yearly 6-0 losses that happen during the season. I was just saying I cant see DP as a play by play guy but more so a color guy. |

Probably once Goring gets caught vomiting up a gallon of vodka live during the pregame show. |

I will be honest I am very up beat about this team this year. I expect them to make the playoffs now instead of praying for it. Of course we have the coaching issues but we have the talent here to over come that |

I'm really hoping Snow & Cappy are on a very short leash. Doesn't sound like Ledecky is screwing around. |

With Seidenberg signing, #Isles have 24 one-way contracts (including Grabo). Presuming Pulock sticks, someone has to go before season starts

I'm probably wrong here, I know this.
BUT
I just have this odd feeling that now we're only a few hundred thousand away from the cap ceiling....someone is getting shipped out. It's not logical, historically, but I just have this gut feeling that it's going to happen.
I don't see any sense in moving Berube (unless someone is really coveting him and overpays big time, which is doubtful). He takes up no cap space and is nice to have in case Halak goes down again.
I'm really hoping Barzal sticks, at least for 9 games.
Indifferent on Quine, I guess. I think he's earned the chance to be a spare forward...but sending him to BPT wouldn't be the end of the world either. |

Agreed on both.......it was just a pre season game, but both of those two looked below average last night. The goalie is one thing, but Quine should have stood out. He's not some high draft pick who's got it made......if he's not workin then he shouldnt be playin.

I've said the whole summer that I think there will be deal right before the season starts. Another cap hell team needing to dump some salary. I don't know who, or how the cap space will effect it, but just a feeling I've had. Maybe, just maybe, signing Seidenberg is that extra piece that allows all the other pieces to fall into place and gets a deal done.

I meant more along the lines of us just shipping someone out to gain some cap space coughbaileycough |

I see what you're talking about now. Just a little cap breathing space. |
