It's a "stealth" rebuild, when you finish 3rd & 5th last in a three year span you're rebuilding but won't admit it or ownership won't allow it.

Regardless….hopefully your Jays get into the playoffs and win some games.

Meh, I don't think half measures are going to work the way you're hoping.

But anyway, thanks man! Go Jays.

Carrying this over

Looking at a team record is not enough imo to conclude that
RD and everything I look at tells me they are are getting some luck
Scored 740 runs, Allowed 729 runs. Pythagorean W-L: 79-77

The Jays are right about where you would expect them
Scored 738 runs, Allowed 642 runs. Pythagorean W-L: 87-68

these are the WS winning teams run differential since 2007
107
69
220
90
89
132
190
139
206

+11 is not good

It would be interesting to see what their RD is since they acquired Beltran and Lucroy and Darvish came back.

They're the same team that took the Jays to 5 games in the ALDS, only with added studs at key positions.

they have been around the same spot most of the season...I remember reading someone asking the question of how they have such a good record with a poopty rd..that was a couple months ago.

but back to the Jays.. the Pitching has returned...throw in Liriano who has been good also. if the Jays are in a WC game I am fine with Happ, Sanchez or Estrada at this point..hell even Stroman has been good the last 10 starts

Had a good rookie season.
Lots of potential

was not impressive, in the slightest at the WCoH, where he was with his peers/age group.

Man. Jose Fernandez. Rip. What a tragedy. What a talent.

Must be a curse on my fantasy keeper. First Taveras now Fernandez.

I may be Jabroni hickey but at least it's a Leaf game. Season is so close you smell it. And it smells like freshly picked amazing.

This is what Eichel reminds me of

Generational is a (frank)ing ridiculous label to be putting on all but a very few players.

Orr Howe Gretzky, maybe Lemieux, maybe Crosby

"Maybe" Lemieux?!

Crosby is also pretty clearly a generational talent. McDavid looks geared to be in the same conversation.

I think you have to add crosby and lemieux. Generational by definition is the best of a generation and Crosby has been head and shoulders over everyone else for the last 10 years. Lemieux is probably the second best forward of all time. Time will tell if Mcdavid qualifies but I think he's well on his way. They've been throwing the word around alot even with Matthews. I think he has Tavares potential, so a good 1st overall not generational.
