Android user, eh?
- stashu

I tried the iPhones... got the 3GS when it first came out... and it died within a couple of months. Sent it off for replacement (apple customer service is pretty good)... and then the new one died. Tried this a third time, same result. Three phones, three different issues - that was enough for me to switch to a different phone

With today being the one-year anniversary of the Cowboys last win at AT&T Stadium, here is a reminder that Alabama has more wins (three) there than the Cowboys since the start of the 2015 season. The Cowboys' loss Sunday to the New York Giants was their eighth in a row at home. The 1989 Cowboys, who went 1-15, were 0-8 at home.

I've had both. Currently have the iPhone. Had Android from the time the original Motorola android came out until last year when I switched to the iPhone, mostly just to have something a bit different. Each has it's pros and cons. The Android is more customizable. The iPhone tends to be more stable.

Same, not to mention that the adapter will be included with the phone...so the meme is dumb (the 80 different adapters thing)
- stashu

The issue is carrying it around all of the time. Say you forget your adapter and you're going on a plane or a car ride. It's not as simple as borrowing a pair of 2 dollar ear buds. The market will grow with it but it's an added inconvenience.

Also charging while you're listening to music requires another adapter. Not to mention all the cars with Aux ports (looking at Uber and Lyft) that now make sure you have your adapter with you.

It's a bold move and in 5 years no one will care but for now it makes them look like they're doing what's best for them rather than the customer. I've never head anyone say "Man, I wish this 7.3mm thick phone was thinner" so the thought that they needed to get rid of it for that is a poopty argument from them. Maybe it wouldn't look as bad if they didn't just buy a high end headphone company.

The only issue I have with android is that they seem to have a new system update every week (or maybe that's just my current device - I'll hopefully be getting something new in the next few months). I do really enjoy having everything work with standard hardware though. The other thing is that there's a few apps specific to my field of work that I don't think exist on apple, so it's nice to have them. Oh, and not having to use itunes is nice (assuming that you still need to do that to sync music with your phone).

Android definitely has it's major flaws as well. Mainly stems from the carriers themselves since Google can't bully them like Apple can. Bloatware, lack of updates, boot lockers. Not to mention the AOSP is below iOS in terms of efficiency and overall stability. My girlfriend just switched from Apple to Android and she says she won't go back.

What phone/carrier? One of my big complaints is I don't get updates enough.

If anything you're likely getting security updates which are supposed to be released monthly. The feature updates generally come out each year but are delayed and modified by both the manufacturer and the carrier. It's basically a big hassle. My next phone will be a Nexus on Google's network just so that I can avoid dealing with all of that.

I have the Asus Zenfone 2. I needed something that was unlocked/not tied to any Canadian provider for when I moved to the US. Pretty good device, and only $300 new with 4GB RAM, quad-core processor and 64GB expandable internal memory.

For what I use my phone for, Apple seems to just work better for me. And I was pretty anti-apple after having a bad experience with an iPod touch about 5 years ago. But most of my close friends have Apple, and when they inevitably send me a group message, my Android phone didn't handle it well. I'd get messages out of order and it would be really slow to send/receive them.

I actually like iTunes, with the exception that it seems like every time I use it I have to do some sort of update to it. I'm definitely tech savvy so I used to manage the music on my phone before, but iTunes makes it a lot easier IMO.

I also like the camera better. For whatever reason, the pictures I take with my iPhone are way better than what my Android used to take.

And that's fine, people should buy the phone they like the most. For me, the group messages used to suck but have gotten better with better messaging apps. For music I just use spotify and I use my camera maybe once or twice a month so it doesn't mean anything for me. I used both for work when I was in the mobility department so I know there's definitely pros and cons for both and both have really good products.
