If he was a Sabre, neither Eichel nor McDavid would be.

That was a much better game than I was expecting. Eichel was loafing it pretty bad at times, but overall it was a quality game. At least from the NA perspective, Europe was just awful.

But saying Eichel is going to "win us more games" as a back handed compliment is a little ridiculous. He's going to be a top 5-10 player in this league just like Seguin, Tavares, Bergeron, Kopitar, Stamkos etc.

It is not currently a playoff team, IMO.

They would be wild card at best, and the Metro has that covered.

There is no question. And nobody is suggesting the Sabres are a powerhouse.

But can we also stop acting like it's realistic to think that our only hope for success is signing a superstar for every roster spot.
